Vouching for this random encounter fix

the fix people came up with is amazing, why? because in 3 mins with out modding your game if u follow the steps you can have your random encounter fixed. i clicked the picture tutorial they made . it was very helpful because i dont what the fuck im doing when it comes to fixing the broken parts of the game the devs take weeks on. i lost all random encounters before 1.3 came out. so i havent had a random encounter in about 2 weeks. i could have modded my account with the counsel command mod but i didnt want to mod my account just to have it broken again when a patch comes out. so i chose to wait for the devs , pfff what a joke that was ,i waited 2 weeks for the devs and finally broke down today and fixed the issue in minutes .THANKS FOR YOUR HELP WITH 1.3.4 DEVS . i recommend any1 on pc to go to that reddit post and follow the tutorial they made fuck waiting for the devs. with my luck they’ll have that patch out today lol. and to that i say fuck that patch i dont even want it. i got the fix i needed lol no thanks to 1.3.4 . sorry to any1 not playing on pc you may have to wait a couple more years for them to fix it. sad thing is its so god damn simple they coulda had a fix for random encounters out in 20 mins if they wanted to… wtf

what-the-hell-are-we-waiting-for-

also im really sorry to the community, cause i love this friggin game. but i sorta lost it when i broke down waiting for that stupid patch and didnt see it this morning . the wait was such a waste of a couple weeks. the fact i wait that long and fixed it in 3 mins is just … i dont even know what to say to that … im just 1 step closer to the edge and im about to break <---- lololololol haha

Who knows,

There is more to fixing random encounters than making them back in the game. Some did not work or had such a slow reaction time that ambushes were often twarted before they would even start.

That murder thing often did not work correctly for me neither, as passing the dialogue checks often resulted in nothing, etc.

that sucks for u i guess bro sorry to hear that. yea i know every1 has diffenent broken parts of the game, seems like every1 has there own issue. but i can say in the 30 minuits of testing my random encounters. they worked flawlessly. the one thing i noticed, with it since i never had a ransom encounter in 1.3 until now. is that its sorta like when u load into a city and u can hear gaurds talkin to u (show me what u have on you) but ur still in a loading black screen. it dose the same for with random encounters but thats ok cause that 1.3 not the encounters. and in general im looking at it like jesus christ be praised i have random encounters again! time to have some combat again. !!!

I’m never using fast travelling unless if it is part of a quest, maybe that’s why. Galoping full speed into an ambush kinda force them to react quickly

in my most honest opinion, if you want random encounters in any save with out modding your game. then go for it. if you need help hit me up but everything u need to fix your game is on reddit. also if you do this, and you download the txt file and change it to .ct and it remains a text file then google “enable file extension viewing” even thats all in the reddit post. but that was the only part of the whole process that took me a coupe of mins to figure out. good luck!

of course, it is a nice quick fix to the problem and kudos to those who found it. I’m just saying to wait and see if warhorse are not actually reworking the random encounter more deeply before saying they are sleeping on the job

i agree, but 2 weeks was long enough. and your not modding the game, the second they do patch it everything will be ok all that fix dose is correct the broken encounter file to its correct number. thats it really. its very simple and your game remains the same game as u downloaded.

so basicly i fixed my main issue i had with the game, now i can enjoy my 2nd and 3rd play through once again and still continue waiting for the patch. only difference is , i dont really care about the patch as much as i did an hour ago cause my issue is fixed. if u didnt know already i dont care about all the other crap in that patch , only thing i wanted it for my R.E. to be fixed thats literally it. honestly, i would consider myself very lucky for this is the main and only real “game breaking” bug i had that really bothered the hell outta me.

Hi,
I am sorry to hear that you feel frustrated and I understand that.
The problem though is bit more complex. It’s true that modders potentially can take one problem and release an immediate “fix” for it by changing some xml, cfg, model etc. What you oversee is that any change can potentially break other things on other parts in the game. Every fix must run through a couple of tests before it can be released. And as you see, unfortunately we are not always lucky enough to find all problems. In addition to that we can’t release patches one by one – but due to technical reasons must sometimes connect them to a big update like 1.2, 1.3 or so on.

So essentially, we are creating one big patch that fixes a hundred problems. Not to mention that we are (with your great help) are discovering new bugs that again can potentially collide with a prepared fix – you see… it’s not as easy as it seems.

I hope you can understand why we act how we act. Almost the entire company is working on fixes and patches and of course we want to get rid of them (those bugs  ) as soon as possible – but as explained above it can take a little longer. I hope you can still stay with us and soon enjoy the game in its full pride.
