Yea, I’m sure these things are bottom listers when it comes to priority lol
there is definetly no chance that you would wear it on armor and helmets there is no thing like that and also not everybody is like you not everybody is playing stealthy characters
It’s just a hood. People wore hoods. Hood != stealth. It was a commonly worn article of clothing at the time.
Why are you so against the idea of having working hoods, rather than the current ones that don’t function?
Hoods will happen. Mods seem to already state that loud and clear.
It must have sucked so much for the devs to have to deactivate features (a process itself taking time), in order to ensure a smooth product by delivery date.
The graphical mishaps arising from some other clothing/armour choices… would have hurt it in reviews and videos…
When players experience a graphically real world, it has been shown we are quicker to notice anything that drops the immersion (vs a cartoony looking game where we imagine the ‘real world’).
The clothing clipping would have annoyed me and I would have docked em marks :-p
Anyhow the devs will reactivate heaps of stuff (obviously) when they have the game working the way they want it to shine.
If they are locking down sliders in the graphical settings tab to enforce smoother sailing post patch (on top of the optimisations they did for key areas that got nasty 20’s fps evn on top end cards…) they are trying to to ensure best experience possible for us, the end users.
Mods will ensure we can have hoods in the meantime if we so choose? Awesome.
Being cryengine, and possibly having some tools given to us by the devs (even documentation) makes a huge difference.
Lots of games get modded even without official support.
Bethesda created ‘creation kit’ for the users… but for all the years elder scroll games (fallout too) have been modded- I cant imagine the gamebryo engine nor the crazy memory limitation were great places to ‘create’…
I get so excited for a medieval game done in cryengine.
So many mods inbound no one seems to see it coming…
(Just look at the adoption rate of buyers of this game-typically a niche genre)
Lots of gamers with this game; maybe waiting for a patch/have heard devs mention ‘support modding’; and are considering the financial potential behind ‘a really good one’… or at least what they might want to play… -might be making models already
This is clearly one of the most powerful/capable engines out there… and way more widely used in the industry than gamebryo(bethesda?)… nothing i have ever used on my system has used my system so much and been as impressive.
The witchers trees were way better than skyrim… - I measure my medieval forest walks by the vegetation-
I look at the nodes and bend points, I look at the bark, and I look at the breeze.
Skyrim (speedtree 2, which was just putting speedtrees on a speedtree) was improved by the witcher… which I found bent to much and too often… KC:D base game is brill!
The way the wind works… the light. Wowsers the light!
I get how come the original (tester) teams never needed save and exit. Game is too pretty and if you lived and breathed it every day you would just load up a save game: literally ‘getting out of bed to go do a day of activity’.
Anyhow mods inbound…
Hoods prolly return from the devs 'emselves in due time.
Not even a month in and things are rapidly coming along.
Releasing on any one platform is a major event. Three is more than a first time round team should have to do, irrelevant of experience in the industry.
They are efin sorry about doing so. The proof is in the fact they aint taken breaks yet.
If we could cheer em on; they might just gain some steam.
there are much more important things than hoods
I never said either of those things. If you read what I wrote I simply suggested the mod for anyone not requiring head armour, not that I see any problem with armoured characters using it either if they don’t mind a bit of clipping at the back. Still unsure why you are arguing against this so much, you have changed your arguments at least 3 times seemingly just for the sake of arguing against it.
i changed it 3 times? nice one m8. oh you said that because you saw my other comment that there are much more important things to do than hoods? and also i was not talking about the mods like you do so what are you even arguing about?
No, that actually made it 4.
1 - Hoods = fantasy
2 -Common people didn’t wear hoods/they weren’t separate items of clothing
3 - "It would mess up the whole thing with armour and so on"
4 - There are more important things for WH to work on. (should have led with this)
I still don’t see the problem with the option of wearing a hood up, the only reason I mentioned the mod is to show that it is already in game but just disabled and it is a viable alternative until WH implement it themselves. I think most people will agree that it isn’t a priority, doubt many would prefer this being worked on over bug fixes or gameplay improvements but it’s still something that should be addressed at some point.
I do not wear armor at all, Im straight stealth and Im doing just fine. I want that hood.
You really dont see the difference between opinion and argument
I mean yea maybe some of my comments did not sounded the way i wanted because english language is not my native language sorry
enabling the hood will have to remove items like coif, mail collar, helmet, etc and then when you wear a helmet, coif, etc the hood will have to be put back down.
the trouble with switching between these two states might be due to the layer system. i don’t know maybe they can use a system like the plate chausses that will automatically take off the shoes
or, just have the hood go up/down automatically once other head pieces are equipped/unequipped…shouldn’t be a problem really. Probably just not something they felt like adding given all the other high priority things they have. I see people with them up with no other head gear all the time and it makes me so jealous lol.
Something like this or like you said, with the plate chausses, how they auto unequip other shoes
