WASD control

I cannot play with WADS. It’s terrible.
Many like that but only because they never tried another setting with mouse.

Mouse with right button for forward was and is the best solution.
With this setting you are very fast.
Games since Wolfenstein offer this setting. Then I have the left hand (or for left handers your right hand) free for important keys.

Someone in the forum said “…you can use 10 keys with your left hand…”

In 1st person games you are always moving… and then use up to 6 keys + 4 movement with only 5-fingers?
This cannot work smoothly.

PLEASE insert changeable settings for movement (Mouse right button for forward)!

how do you strafe? Oo

Just buy a controller for games like this. Unless I’m playing a game that requires extreme twitch precision like CS:GO I don’t use wasd/mouse.

I strafe with STRG and left Alt.

Mouse is the most precise input. Mouse movement with right button (forward) == all in one hand is the fastest way. A WASD user never has a chance against a mouse player.
This is not a question of skill, its of physics - fingers against a mouse
I’m a first hour 1st Person player. I bought a 386 only because of Wolfenstein.

@Developers: You like WASD, do it, but please don’t forget the “old style” mouse players.

Never has a chance in what? In fps shootout? In meele fighters? I don´t really get how this gives you advantage in any of these, and I used this setup aswell one time… Thing of habit I guess  I had my 386 aswell, but I played doom first I think
But don´t worry, changing of keybinds will get there sooner or later

This is dead wrong. There’s a reason why E-Sport games are all wasd and mouse. Aiming and shooting is more precise when it’s mouse controlled. As a result of the movement keys being WASD your navigation is boosted significantly because of the rise of multiplayer and smarter ai. You can’t just always move only forward anymore.

You may be better at the old setup, but if you spent time learning the new setup you’d be better than you ever would be using the old controls.

Games nowadays have way more mechanics than wolfenstein/doom did back in the day so input has changed to suit it more, especially as hitboxes became more precise.

But in the end they should let you rebind stuff  so it won’t matter

I too hope keybinds will be changeable (soon!) as WASD just doesn’t work for me. I used it in MMOs when I first started, but found moving by mouse to be the only way to go when a lot of movement was required, as in kiting, or in games like TSW where you move or you die. Move with mouse, skills on a hotbar, works best for me.
