We NEED a female warrior Protagonist!

Ragnar technically existed, his deeds are written in a book, however it’s speculated that there were more than one Ragnars.
Down with the matriarchy.

Well if by technically you mean that the name existed and that there was a legend about Ragnar that might have been based on a multiple different Ragranrs but might have also been total folklore then yes…

Interesting how all of you are pointing out that it wasn’t that women weren’t fit for soldiery, but because of the sexism of the time
Naturally I agree with the second part, but if we look at the physical features commonly noted in men and women there is also a legitimate reason to not bring women to fight, and die, on the battle field
I’d now like to point out two people who have talked about this in an unbiased (in my opinion) way

edit: while these guys arent biased. I certainly am in the case of having a female protagonist in the game, so take what i post as you will and do your own research, don’t take what people say at face value

I would be fine with a joan of arc game, though the ending would certainly be a downer. I assume to be accurate it would have to be heavily story driven with little to no player combat because there is no way that a teenage peasant girl would gave the strength to wage serious combat with period armor and weapons.

Of course we need one. I will write the story right now.
She is born, She is a house maid.
She is 16 years old. The land lord takes her for a night.
She is 18 years old. She gets rebellious. She gets stoned.
She is 21 years old. She gets rebellious. She dies at the stake.
End of story.

wow… realism

The only reason she got recognition is because they thought she was a saint (and later martyr). Otherwise she would have been ignored in this period.

we didnt have any Joan of Arc or similar character in our history… dont change our beatiful bohemian history with idiotic non realistic woman characters… if you want Joan of Arc go and find devs who will make historical game based on french history!!!

I hate ppl who wanted to change history just because today standards of social justice…especially when it is history of MY country.

Actually she was burnt at the stake for heresy, she did not adhere to the church authority, but claimed direct inspiration from God. Not burnt for being a woman.

Why do we need people of colour and women in every title? Then i want a male protagonist in lara croft, and horizon zero dawn, and a white protagonist in san andreas. @aleah

Damn an eminem-styled hoodboy in San Andreas coaching the black G’s would be so hilarious

No we don’t. Not ever.

I don’t care for a playable female character at all and I am not the one screaming that some games have no playable male characters (like Mirror’s Edge) because the story is about a girl, not a guy. So, do “we” need a female warrior protagonist? Not really. It’s more like “some” people WANT a female warrior protagonist, for whatever reason.

Go cry somewhere else …

If you even bothered to read the comments, you’d understand that pretty much everyone’s giving a logical explanation as to why it isn’t possible. Return those horse blinders to pebbles.
