Lol this guy is partly joking and partly stirring the pot to get traction on his you tube. Normally i wouldn’t mind but another video he did was just bash the game and mock other youtubers
@Nani Warriors no, but women are already working in the game. Namely Johanka and Zora. I won’t give spoilers, but they are both important. One for the economics of horse trade, and the other is a hardcore medic. Just pointing that out that they were included, just not as PCs. Not as warriors though, there are no female warriors in Bohemia in 1403 from what I understand. Feel free to correct me as I am rusty on history.
I am not trolling. I was merely point out that Aleah is trolling.
the salient point in the vid relevant to this thread is equality in opportunity vs equality in outcome
I don’t know about a warrior, but I’d love to be able to play as a woman and have to use other methods to fulfill my objectives. Participating in conspirations, seducing male characters, adding new habilities to the game… Maybe if would be a little less action-biased, and more a stealth/charisma/eloquence gameplay.
The thing is, ironically I don’t think a game where woman can actually use their “attributes and charm” will be positively valued by ceratin groups…
Press X to talk
Female Protagonist: “I’m looking for work”
NPC: “We don’t have any work here for women.”
Female Protagonist: “You don’t have any work for a sellsword?”
NPC: “Yes ofcorse, is it your husband or lord?”
Female Protagonist: “Im the sellsword.”
NPC: laughs hysterically “Get out of my sight WENCH”
I’m gonna call sexism on that one lol
You’re going to call Sexism on The Entirety of Medieval Bohemia? I think history and everyone else will agree with you.
It really wasn’t sexism at that time though. Times have changed. We now have dishwashers, laundry machines etc. Back then, how else would people get things done?
That would be pretty boring playing Kingdom Come to wash dishes, cook and clean. Unless ofcorse it’s not a historically accurate simulation of medieval Bohemia.
The character could be a girl who really doesn’t want to work as a peasant and actually wants to go up in the social scale, participate in politics and conspirations… She could have an affair with a noble and use it to make some contacts. Or she could learn medicine and gain some popularity in her village. She could become literate, a nun, a teacher of some type. Or a merchant. I mean, not all women were doing dishes.
I really want a female PC not because of justice of any kind, but because Kingdom Come Deliverance is one of the few games where we could have a character like this. Of course, having a female character using her “charm” to seduce someone would raise some alarms and certain groups wouldn’t like it at all, but where alse can we have a woman using her real resources to meet her interests instead of being a badass with a sword, kinda out of place (historically)?
Everything you just mentioned sounded boring.
Well, maybe for an action RPG, that’s why I think it won’t happen. You can learn stealh or alchemy playing with Henry but in the end there are always fights, with fists or swords, and it would be quite hard to fit a woman realistically on those fights. An DLC or some type of expansion, more focused on politics or abilities rather than action could do the trick.
I think they should concentrate all their efforts on fixing what we have first. As for DLC I think they should make fun things for Henry. They could even cater to Liberals and allow Henry to wear women’s clothing. Surely the SJW would not say he’s not an actual woman if he identifies as one.
Ahhhh, now you’re thinking. Henry turns himself into a woman with the clothing option…that way so if he wants to play as a woman warrior, he could. There is your female main protagonist option. Could even change the name if someone chooses to. It wouldn’t be forced upon us and wouldn’t intrude on the fans core game but adds stuff for those others who are into that type of stuff. That could work.
And yeah, gotta work on the bugs first and foremost though.
i’d be ok with Theresa and then Henry as her bodyguard companion. she then gets to be the brains and he gets to be the brawn. dialogue etc would require major rework but it might be fun
I don’t think the video was too philosophically deep. Being that he was talking about brianne of tarth being a big contribution to history. Having said that, a female character in this setting would be awesome. But it would probably be poorly executed for pc reasons
Meh.
Unless she was a noble, why would sleeping with a lord make her go up in the ranks? The nobles probably have dozens of concubines, whores when ever they want, and could have any women they wanted as a wife.
Could be a merchant that has spent a great deal of resources to create a false family history of nobility
Well what i just mentioned above could easily apply to a very wealthy merchant as well. It’s kinda hard to use sex as a weapon to someone who can easily obtain it.
