Weather effects in Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Hello there!

I watched an video on YouTube where the day and night cycle of “Tom Clancy’s The Division” is compared between pc and consoles. I have noticed that the falling snow hasn’t any impacts/consequences. So, the snow didn’t get more on the ground. In this moment I got questions in my head: Will be there seasons in KC:D? If yes, will be there fallen snow which gets more by falling snow?

This would be really nice!

But you are not talking about a Kingdom Come: Deliverance video, do you?
Because we have no video where pc and console versions are compared to each other, and we also don´t have snow falling down, because: No, we won´t have different seasons. The whole game takes place in the summer of 1403. And there was no snow in summer of 1403 in bohemia.

Haha! Kuba! Nice, I hope it will be in the game!

I really like how these puddels getting larger when it rains.
Can’t see it good enought but it seems to me that the water is flowing downhill.

You need to add in new AI to react to the weird guy staring at puddles.

In addition to puddles growing in size the more it rains, and running downhill if gravity/slope dictates, it’d be nice if when you STEP in the puddle, there’s a splash and ripple, and if you jump in the puddle, should be a bigger splash and ripple effect.

When all the little details are done to a certain degree of realism and believability, it inherently makes the world more immersive, and thus the story more engaging. The littlest of details, even when seemingly having no real impact on the story or gameplay, when done to perfection, does make an impact on the story and gameplay by the aura it creates. “Unnecessary realism” should be the motto of almost every game developer; especially for RPGs targeting a more mature audience. There’s a big difference between the “popcorn” games like Call of Duty, etc., that target the lowest common denominator of gamer, and something like Kingdom Come, that is targeting fans of history, of realism, of branching storylines driven by decision making dialogue and moral choices, etc.

I was thinking this exact thing just the other day as I was sneaking through the bushes and stream near Samopesh. No water splash noise or anything.

Certainly be a nice touch

That´s only a bug in Alpha 0.5 (and 0.4). In the older Alphas (0.2/0.3) it worked correct. I hope they can fix this for the Beta. There are more puddle and water sound bugs at the moment.

If anybody would remember correctly, it’d be you @Blacksmith

How many hundreds of hours you racked up in the Alpha?

… and fun! I think we all tried to jump into a puddle to see what happens. Did not you run around trying to scare some chickens? People like doing and talking about stupid things like that  Maybe more so than promised clothes cleaning feature… I am all for mature games but I hate doing my loundry
