A mercenary challenged me to a duel while he waited for the merchant that hired him. So I figured it would be an easy way to earn some money as I am in basically full plate and the shiniest part of his armor was his helmet that didn’t even cover his face. Well that happened to be his downfall… I stabbed him in the face once and he died. Now I’m a murderer and killed a man over 50 groschen
Very common due to the extremely flawed enemy scaling/game balancing, once you reach a certain level (for me level 12) you kill everyone with pretty much one stab. For me this was the experience when I met the timid knight dude who I killed by accident simply trying to duel. Which was the point where I quit the game and started the desperate hunt for mods to make the game challenging!
Supposedly 1.3 will include game balancing/enemy scaling improvements which hopefully will work because the game is incredible in some aspects but terrible in others (this being one of the chief problems with the game for me)
Knowing that even in a friendly duel I can murder someone I will always just persuade the timid knoight to not fight.
Definitely my biggest gripe… I use mods for now too, hopefully this gets patched soon
You want enemies to survive being stabbed in the face by a sword? I thought everyone was barking on about this game being “Thuper real”
No but i don’t want to one shot full plated arma bosses with my stick either
Aye, I have a save just before talking to him so it’s a good way to test each of the mods, about to test Odolnost against him which sounds on paper to be the mod that’ll make him the toughest to beat!
Sorry to hear that buddy, but sadly it happens a lot. I also fee terrible when it does…but only on my first playthrough, since I was a noble knight, now that I’m a bastard I laugh and spit on their corpses!
One way to minimize the chance of that happening is to use the worst possible sword you can find, as I’m doing in the video bellow:
I murdered some woodcutters just to see if i could get away with it… They were just trying to do their jobs!
