What do I get, gameplay wise, for my Alpha pledge?

Hi all,

I am sorry for asking this question as I bet it has been asked 1000 times before already, however I can’t seem to find a thread or blog to answer them!

What do I get when I pledge to this game?

How many hours of gameplay are there? Is there quests to do, levelling up, collecting gear etc etc. How much of the map can I access, and what limitations are in place. All that kinda thing!

I see we get ACT I, but that could be little more than a tutorial for all I know!

I really like the look of this game from the few videos I have seen and the concept seems amazing too but I am just unsure if now is the time to dip my toes into this game as it were!

I assume for my pledge that I will get all updates as the game progresses and eventually get the full game in all it’s glory with no further purchases required?

Thanks in advance for any replies

Bash.

So ACT I is whole cca 30 hour game on 16 square kilometers. It is full game with leveling, quests and other stuff. It will be released in Spring or Summer 2016. (ACT II and ACT III are also complete games, or maybe game sized DLCs for the first game not included in most of the pledge levels)

What you can get now is access to technological alpha which right now contains two or three quest, area of small village, beginning of leveling system. You can see most of the current content in about an hour or two. Although some people managed to spend 150 hours in game already. There is no combat as of yet, but that should change in next release after E3.

If you pledge depending on the level you get updates from alpha/beta till full game release.

As @masozravapalma said, ACT I will be a full game, not a tutorial or something. Maybe ACT II and III will play some years after ACT I, but this is not confirmed yet.
ACT I originally was planned with 30 hours of gameplay, buts its more now. I can not find the scource anymore with detailed information, but as far as I remember it was something around 70 hours now. But I am not sure about this information, how many hours exactly. Daniel Vavra has talked about it in some videoupdates, but which one is the correct?

Alpha gameplay is still pretty basic. There are some quests, now its around 2 hours of gameplay I would say, but there will be more after E3. At the moment its only a single village without fighting and only with some basic tasks. Alpha is not a real game now, more like a interactive technological presentation. But maybe this will change with E3.

Things You Can Do In Current Alpha Build 0.3

Lost Sheep - Return a Lost Sheep to his home.

Lost Hammer - The towns Blacksmith misplaces his very livelihood Help him find his hammer or convince him a suitable replacement.

Archery - Challenge the local master archer, shoot well and win the grand prize your very own bow! (introduces Archery mechanic)

Each quest and activity helps level your stats such as Strength, Charisma, and Speech. You can already see how leveling such traits and skills has an effect on you success at specific attempts of interaction with an NPC.

There is currently one small village (IDK exactly how big) small but immersive and rich, you will spend a great deal of time admiring the beautiful setting around you (especially the forests).

You can watch the day/night cycles of NPC’S, as well as the transition between day to night in the environment and sound scape.

Most important of all BUGS! its important to remember that this is an Early Tech Alpha and is far from being a complete game, however very impressive and will leave you more hyped then when you started.

I would say it takes 5-6 Hours total to take in everything the Current build offers, I know this from experience.
