What Does Leveling Do?

What does it mean to level? I mean, what benefit does it give you? How does increasing my level of Herbalism help me? What is the actual mechanical effect of increasing my fencing? Does potion-making get easier/faster/better as my Alchemy increases? Et cetera.

In combat your relative level to your opponent determines how easy it is to hit or dodge each other’s attacks. Increasing strength does more damage. As for alchemy and herbalism skill, I don’t think they were implemented, but some potions or herbs may require a certain level of skill, or let you gather more, or make more effective or longer lasting potions.

The skills are definitely implemented. They’re on the character sheet and I get notified that I leveled up as I brew potions or pick plants.

And yeah, I guessed that they MAY have some effect like gathering more or making more effective or longer-lasting potions but can anyone confirm what they ACTUALLY do?

Herbalism gives more herbs of the same type in the local area collected per action, rapid increase in skill.

Good to know. Thanks.

I found the tooltips for each of the skills so I have a better idea what each does now when you level it up. Some of them I’m still unclear on what needs to be done to level them but hopefully I’ll pick that up in time.

For herbalism, at the beginning you are just grabbing one ingredient at a time, after some level, you grab like all ingredients of the same type around you, it’ really fun, even if I think it’s a bit to fast to improve that skill
