What have you done to deserve this treatment?
If you would like to tell, of course.

Well, I haven’t done anything actually. My brother is accused of terrorism by the united states though, so that’s why they took it to see if there was anything they could use on it.

TrueCrypt ftw! :sunglasses:

So, you are Danish terrorist.

PC
Case: Oldie Maxdata case in which everything barely fits
CPU: AMD FX-8320
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E Extreme
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 (fun story: I actually ordered the UD3, turns out they didn’t have it in stock and so I got a tier higher for free)
RAM: 2x 4GB DDR3-1333
Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon HD7950 Boost
Power Supply: old Enermax 465W PSU
Drives: 2 DVD-DL burners, HDDs:4 (2 laptop HDDs, 2 desktop HDDs)
Main monitor: Dell 2208WFP 1680x1050 TN non-glare with a yellow-ish tint for some reason (can’t really complain though, was cheap second hand)
The other 3 monitors: Eizo FlexScan L665 1280x1024 IPS non-glare with burned out backlights mostly so it takes a while for the panels to warm up and give a nice colour reproduction (they are all 32,50 EUR second hand displays and are each 11 years old, so I’d say that’s nothing major)

Laptop
Model: Dell Precision M6600 Workstation 17.3"
CPU: Intel i7-2670QM
RAM: 32GB DDR3-1333 SODIMM
Graphics card: AMD FirePro M8900 (equivalent roughly to a HD6970M)
Screen: 1920x1080, non glare, TN

Both can run games at pretty good settings. The Dell has really good cooling for a laptop, too (and the PC… well, I couldn’t fit the left side of the case on because of the CPU cooler so the cooling is pretty good).

No need, there was some pirate copied games on it, but it is the actual copyright holders that needs to sue me the police can’t. It is a private matter. Besides there was maybe only one or two pirated ones.

Yeah, but to encrypt everything doesn’t hurt, except for the bad guys (NSA).
It would be at least a little payback for the trouble they stir up.
To give them a hard time is fair enough. You can’t make it too easy for them.
They aren’t allowed to force you to reveal the password.
Worst case scenario: they bring a bucket full of water and a towel.

A free bath sounds good…

CPU: 1st gen Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz,Bloomfield 45nm Technology
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti (MSI) Power Edition

RAM: 4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 533MHz
HDD: 1TB WD Sata drive
CASE: Sixth element

Basically a really shitty build that I’m none to happy with since my ex roomie thought he knew what he wa doing when he was helping me build this model and in turn ripped me off since I was helping him build his rig at the same time with some of my own money at the time and he ended up building the better model while giving me shit tier parts such as an energy saving HDD (who does that to a man?) and an old 1st gen i7 and slow speed RAM with a case that’s basically really bad for airflow and the legs below easily coming off when moved.

A very bad start in my eyes towards myself entering PC gaming and being strapped for money at the moment just makes me loathe wanting to put anymore money into this build let alone having to save up a lot more for a completely new build.

With that said I’m more likely to buy a Wii U this year and enjoy a few Nintendo exclusives to take away my sour feelings towards this platform.

(Also kicked my roomie out once I’d found out what he’d done with the parts and the money).

Bought mine in Aug 2013 for 850 € (ca. 1120 $) only (special-offer price). :stuck_out_tongue:
(differences to yours are bold)

• CPU: Intel Core i7-4702MQ, 4x 2.20GHz

• Weight: 3.20kg
• Warranty: two years

I got a stationary PC as well, which is, of course, much better than the laptop.
(even if it’s 1½ years old by now)

I see, your gfx card is little bit better than mine.

Is your screen non-glare?
This was a condition which had to be fulfilled for me
(one of many conditions ).

What did you pay for this setup?

[quote=“Sun_Streaker, post:70, topic:14729, full:true”](Also kicked my roomie out once I’d found out what he’d done with the parts and the money).

Did you at least take the components you paid for out of his PC before you kicked him out?

Well… My laptop came with a 1TB HDD and 8GB, but I disembowel an old one and upgrade the new with another disk and extra memory

Besides the GPU, it’s exactly the same, but mine cost me $1350 (non-special price… not even christmas discount! :()

Display: 17.3 inch (439.42 mm) WLED FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare TN 300 Nit Display. Glare is definitely a non-starter with me also :sunglasses:

There are a few other differences but I believe the one I got was pretty closely modeled from the info you all gave me with the HDMI, 4 3.0 USB ports, 8 cell battery and dual cooling system. My favorite though is, of course, AlienFX system lighting. Create custom lighting and special effects to suit your unique gaming style. Apply 20 different colors to 10 different zones (including rear panel, chassis surround and track pad) for up to 10,240 billion color combinations. I know, just like a girl, huh? Lol.

I got it for a little over $1,400. There were a lot of other ones with less features going for around 1,800 so it felt like a decent deal and much better than going straight to Dell. Theirs started at over 2k.

At that point I didn’t know what part of my money and his had gone into his build, he’d more or less consulted another friend of mine at the time behind my back and without my friend’s knowing either so the roomie ended up giving me parts of his original crappy build and instead composed his build out of what my friend suggested.

It was only brought to my attention when my rex roomie told my friend my current Motherboard was developed by “nvidia” which me and the friend knew was bs and my friend told me about the roomies build in privacy and that’s pretty much how the lies unfolded and how me and my friend were taken for chumps.

At this point it’s been roughly half a year if not nearing to one since I kicked him out and I’ve still been preoccupied with bills, rent etc to even bother considering a new build, let alone from looking at the expensive parts I want that will probably take 2 years to go down in price and by then be outdated =/.

Just finished my new build which I started just so I can play this, Star Citizen and Witcher3

Case: Antec 902 Gaming Case
CPU: i7 4820K
CPU Cooler: Antect Liquid cooling system
MoBo: Sabretooth X79
RAM: 4x 8GB DDR3 1866
GPU: Gigabyte GTX770 OC 4GB
PSU: Antec 750W
Hardrive: 3TB HDD, 240GB SSD
Standard Blu-Ray Player/Burner
OS: Win. 8.1 64xbit

I’d just like to add that I have just upgraded my (old) mouse and headset to a Razer Lachesis 5600dpi and a Logitech G930 7.1 Wireless. Incrementally updating for what will be the most awesome medieval RPG ever released in my lifetime.

i7 4770K OC’d to 4.1ghz (small OC I know, but I think they’re selling out the underperformers as they near the new product launch…she starts getting unstable at 4.3 :P), w/NZXT X40 cooler.
MB is a MSI X87-GD65
RAM is16 gigs Corsair Dominator Platinum @ 2133mhz
2 Samsung 250gig SSDs
Single MSI GTX 780 at a 10% OC
All powered by a Corsair RM1000 (yes, overkill) and housed in a NZXT Phantom 410 (black on black on BLACK!)

Edit - Apparently my “disapproving tongue” part of the description was too literal…

Yeah i love everything logitech when it comes to mouse keyboard, and a few other equipment, even got a logitech webcam  for my youtube videos.

FX-8120 on 4.5GHz
