What’s up with combat?

I’ve done training, I’ve been in plenty of fights. But when doing training now and clearing out the cumin’s it still seems like my guy swings a 2 pound sword like he’s trying to heave a bushel of bricks and they swing it like it’s a friggin soda straw. I hit the block button and he doesn’t even try. Or, EVERY strike I attempt goes into slow mo without the green block indicator, and if I try and block or dodge, it does nothing, it acts like I haven’t even given an input. Doing training now and literally just counted off 37 strait attempted strikes where he just bashed me in the face with the hilt of his sword, and that cannot be blocked in the game mechanics.

Don’t feel bad. I have to mash the mouse just to get Henry to throw a punch, when unarmed.
Meaning the first 2 button presses will do nothing. lol

try unloading all unnecessary gear on to your horse. I’ve noticed that it makes a big difference how much your caring even if your not at the overburdened point.

Hmm, I’ll have to give that a go

Train a little more. As defence goes up, your window for perfect blocking gets a little longer, parrying blocks more, and more often. As warfare goes up, you attack more quickly and reliably. As weapon skill goes up, you do more damage.

Okay so if I focus on warfare that will help with speed and responsiveness?

Warfare goes up whenever you strike with a weapon. Hard to really “focus” on it as such. But yes, you’ll attack faster with all weapons, as well as unarmed, when it increases.
