I am curious about this. Would I get my game shipped still, would I get a digital code or would I just get a refund? Australia has the R18 rating, sure. However I fear it may get banned either way.

If you dont get the game in youre country, then you have 1 option. Move to another country! I mean can you imagine to live without this game?!

I guess that even through ban, it still should be delivered by mail, unless your post office people checks every box that comes through for contraband games Which sounds rather silly, but I guess anything is possible in these twisted days lol.

Maybe I´am wrong, but if the game is banned in Australia, Steam should also ban it for Australien people, or not? And without Steam no play, no matter if you have a DVD…
Not necessarily. A well-known Zombie-Game is banned in Germany - I can still play my copy over steam.
Why would you think that the game will be banned here in Australia? We have little problem here in Oz when it comes to games being banned, even censorship (with games) for that matter. I have (or anyone i know) never had a problem with this. Could you cite some examples of games you’ve bought that have been banned?

Well, I hate to say it, but since you already bought the game… if it doesn´t work, you can probably just use no-steam crack, even tho I would rather never see this thing for KCD…
