Who else is getting excellent performance now on PC?

I only have an FX 8350 and a Nvidia 970, but I’m now getting close to 60 FPS in outside settings and around 40 in the most demanding areas. This is on ultra high textures, and high for most other settings. A big improvement from this I think https://www.pcgamesn.com/kingdom-come-deliverance/kingdom-come-deliverance-pc-graphics-performance-4k

I was thinking of upgrading but now I’m not so sure.

Why would you suddenly be getting improved performance. Still shit for me but then they havnt yet released the patch to improve it. 1.4 hopefully will. Performance is fine most the time but big battles, night time with torches, rattay all need fixing in terms of performance. I’m pretty disgusted with the performance.

Nvidia released new drivers (391.24) which helped me. Patch 1.3.3 also seemed to make it run smoother. Both combined was a big difference.

Not going to disagree! After 5 hours of a restart, 1.3.4, un-modded on PC, although I’m not thrilled with the patch…the game runs better than it has yet on my previous 50 hours of gameplay. KCD and Warhorse are moving in the right direction.

You sure it’s not placebo ? They havnt mentioned anything, not even the stupid improve stability shit they usually throw in there every time

This Time the first thing I noticed was the lip syncing. I’ve started the game over 3 times prior to 1.3.4 and voice acting didn’t match the animations. After 1.3.4, the voices matched. This was a big issue of mine from day one. It isn’t perfect, but WAY better now. And there way a missing cut scene in Patch 1.3 when the Skallitz refugees are passing Talmberg. This scene was brought back in 1.3.4. Also, at least on my PC, distant objects in Skallitz loaded great. I didn’t have to be within 10 “in game” feet for a distant object to load.

Yeah we’re talking about actual frame rate here though arnt we and that’s not till 1.4 and im a little skeptical they can fix the broken performance. I know 80 percent of the time it’s fine but soon as there’s a load of NPC’s or night time with torches it shits itself.

For me I get this weird thing where if I get within 2 feet of an NPC the FPS tanks hard. But move another foot away and it goes back up. Then there’s shitty rattay another unoptimised mess. Jesus sprinting through there with a horse and you’ll see what I mean.

Thing is it’s not hard to get good frame rates, all depends what’s going onz what’s you’re lowest frame rate during the first big battle. What about nightime with torches during rain. I’ve seen people with way better specs dropping down to like 20 FPS, 1.3.4 hasn’t improved frame rate. They’d mention it in patch notes surely.

Yes performance improvements were under the hood with this patch.
My machine had to run for thirty minutes or more (and I restarted KCD due to a stutter)… and then it did seem improved.

For the first twenty minutes or so it was hell (feared it had been gimped /made to perform better for weaker PCs), but then it righted itself.

I run ultra + (everything maxxed except shadows which I vary depending on monitor used to keep frameratw high) and previous to this patch the game has been near flawless. (Shock)

I did start getting a middle distance pop that had never been there previously

The common out front of bathouse is an easy reference point…
Seems like after running for awhile the back end systems caught up and issue isnt as bad, if even there at all anymore.

My rig is three years old and is a midrange (for enthisiasts) PC.
Something in their LOD stream seems to have been modded to lower cpu bottlenecking. Like the last patch (not hotfixes) the optimisation is consistant.
(Last patch removed the two loaded cores and balanced out the heavy hit threads (100% usage) over all cores. I noticed overall an improvement in my cpu loading that had me remove my 4.2ghz overclock.

Yes- users should be seeing improved performance- note: might need to let it run for an hour or ‘awhile’ to let game sort itself out. (I had very obvious LoD transistion going wrong or running late, and objects being late to render in mid distance- never a problem previously).

Lip syncing Id believe too. Large part of the day one patch was getting it ‘better’, but it isnt done yet.

Can anyone not seriously see this studio has pride and is determined to make this product perfection?
They really are delivering way more than is being asked of them, and are embarresed by the time it is taking to sort out everything ‘not yet’ fixed…
(No need to flamewar -I know this statement will anger some…)

They definately are giving way more in the patches than is listed.

Console users might be sad about a small delay until patch 1.4 clears; but when it does- (shortly), we should all have a well working game for the majority.
The devs are way focused on optimisation but theyd be mad to let anyone know that until thebugs be squished

Far enough mate. You’re happy with it all that matters. Personally haven’t had any performance increases but I am running a pretty low end system these days. Thing is performence is fine in general but tanks when there’s a few npcs or NPC’s and torches, big battles. I’m hoping 1.4 gives decent optimisations.

For me it’s very playable, I only brought it a few weeks ago.

But it needs optimisation I’m playing on medium and I just know I could play it on high easily but because of the way the game seems to struggle with AI and torch light… not yet.

I have always found it played great, but i did notice it is a bit smoother i’m on my second play through
running i7 770 64gb ram on a rog strix with geforce gtx 1080 ti and find it incredible on my 4k asus i play just to look at it, i also have a mods ambient occluson fix and optomized graphic settings on for better shading and wow, love this game!

Precisely the opposite, unfortunately. Everything ran very well until 1.3.4 and it went to hell. I restarted and it’s better without the long-game physics issue Daniel described, but it’s still worse than my first two playthroughs. Disabled Ansel, made sure drivers were up to date…little or no effect. I dunno.

Still have lag issues but after the nvidia update there is less studder (on low graphics setting, GTX 1060 and i5 7400) every NPC still gets missing heads and their clothes flash on and off constantly when they first render in, or when they’re at any kind of distance.

i7-4910MQ
32 MB RAM
SLI GTX 880M (Enabled SLI via Nvidia Inspector, 32 MB graphics memory)
Installed on the SDD drive, at first I installed it on the regular HD, but tested it on the SDD instead. Made a huge difference. Max LOD settings on objets, vegetations etc.

Runs very smooth for me, 50-60 fps country-side, around 30 in crowded areas.

That’s still pretty bad tho, that rig is pretty insane but you only get 30 FPS in crowded areas? What about the big battles?

Well I’ve overclocked now, so it’s closer to 40 in concentrated areas. I could get better if I lower my settings, but I never have a problem personally until I get low 20s and below. A personal preference I guess. As for large battles, I’ve only had the one so far, and it was pretty bad, but that was before I realised my video card wasn’t connected right and was causing lag and intermittent system shut downs.

Enarion, I assume you mean 32 GB? lol. I only have 10 GB RAM and am getting similar performance. Does all that RAM really matter?

Looking at the comments it seems performance is very arbitrary in this game.

For gaming, anything over 16 GB is a waste of money at this point.

Pfffff, but you won’t be able to launch nukes or monitor the space shuttle!
