Why has henry so little stamina?

Hi everyone,
I’m a little bit confused about the stamina system. Our char isn’t a soldier, so he isn’t a good fighter. He needs to learn how to use swords and bows - and this is cool! Normal people had no weapons, so he has no practise.

But I don’t get why he has so little stamina. He is the son of a blacksmith right? And was about to become a blacksmith too. So he is dealing with heavy steel, fire and tools since he was six years old or something like this! This is a medieval scenario, so kids have to work. And when you are working for a blacksmith, you should have more muscles and stamnia than a normal soldier in my opinion. Google “blacksmith” and take a look at the pictures. Muscles everywhere!

If he has to be very weak in the beginning, he should be the son of a bard or something like this. But even the son of a bard should be able to do more than 3 swings before running out of breath.

tl;dr: Henry should be able to do much more actions before he is out of stamnia, due to his childhood as a son of a blackmsith.

What do you think?

Cheers!

Strength does not determine stamina, look into body builders they can move massive weight but not for very long.

Smithing is Physical work yes but its also very stationary the movements required for sword fighting are demanding and have you constantly moving. Foot Work, Foot work, Foot Work.

I could agree that his background would give him increased strength allowing increased damage and maybe even the speed at which he swings but increased stamina is illogical.

Also do not forget that it is an RPG by nature and your skills will change and develop.

Out of curiousity what style you pick? Squire, Diplomat, or Jack of all trades?

What about his horse? It seems to have worse stamina than Henry…

I see your pont. But in my opinion, increased stamnia isn’t completey illogical. He should be able to do more strikes with a sword or an axt, when he used to hammer down tools for years. Or to use the sharpening wheel for a sword longer than 10 seconds - using a tool like this is part of his job! It’s ridiculous that he can’t do his work for at least half a minute. Look how easily this dude is using such a wheel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7IA6Etkdb0

I agree, that his work shouldn’t allow him to sprint half an hour or something like this - things that are connected with stamina too. But the fights doesn’t feel good, when he is running out of breath so fast.

Sure, it’s a RPG an and he shouldn’t be a killing machine right from the beginnig.

At first I picked Jack of all trades, but I had some game breaking bugs. No I’m playing as Squire - and have again some bad bugs, for example the bow teacher doesn’t move or react.

I do completly agree. The amount of stamina should be at least doubled or even more ! To balance things out and make them much more immersive the recovery speed should be reduced. This way henry could do more actions without talking a break but would have to take a real/longer break after that (not just stop swinging his sword for 5sec.)
