Why helmets with limited vision don't work

At first I liked the idea of helmets with limited vision.
But the advantage of wearing a helmet with limited vision is not accurately represented in the game. In a real fight the chance of getting hit in the face or getting an arrow in the face would be higher than it is in the game.
Therefore most player’s won’t use the helmets with limited vision.

You get what I mean?

I used to be hit in the face, untill I took an arrow to the knee.

In this game damage to your head is very significant, I’ pretty sure there’s no issue with balancing the downside with the benefit because of that.

That’s not really true.
Combat features a thrust in face, which is actually pretty effective attack given that enemy does not have a visor.
And NPC can and do often use this attack against you.

Even if you were right, why does it matter? So you wouldn’t use it and there would be a little interesting (maybe useless) feature that you can freely ignore. It doesn’t harm the game nor your experience in any way, does it?

@Freix
Well if I’m right it does harm the game because you won’t use those helmets.

But don’t get me wrong. I love the idea. I’m just not sure whether the downside of limited vision is accurately balanced with the benefit compared to real historical fights.
