Why is this game still unoptimised?

I run it on desktop and a laptop.

Desktop CPU: I5 3570k. Lots of stuttering. FPS can go as low as 40, but the micro stuttering is really what annoys me.
Laptop CPU: I7 7700HQ: Very smooth. Even in cities. Just when there are really big crowds at night, it goes down, but it then lags consistently, no micro stutter.

So I was wondering, since the clock of the desktop is good, why it happens. Comparing the CPUs, the main difference is threads. 4 vs 8. So maybe threads have a huge impact on the micro stuttering?

If you prefer slow loading textures to frame drops won’t that make the game look a bit choppy? If it works for you, it works. I would have thought a mech drive would have made it worse tho?

I have the second fastest 1080 and just as I’ve mentioned in my replies just above your post I don’t have any issues. I can get over 100fps and the lowest is 61 and that when I’m on horse galloping through the towns. Maybe you have an issue somewhere.

Are you getting low frame rates with other games?

We are taking about this setting (first posting).
There is no Video or another evidence for his low FPS.

Do we all agree, that with a 1080TI it is not possible to have such a bad performance (max FPS in this game)???

If yes, I will close this…

Choppy ? Makes things look a bit ugly till the textures load but it’s better than constantly dropping down to unplayable frames as in below 30

Games smooth otherwise, another thing that drives me nuts is how long it takes when changing graphic setting for first time, takes about quarter of a frikin hour ffs

I just don’t see how. performance of that card at 1080p just does not make sense. The post is vauge.

Shame… Came back after months to see if this was finally fixed, guess not.

Oh well, was hopeful for this game, now my hope has gone.

FPS! That aint no problem for most! Its the goddamn stuttering and lag/freeze spikes!

More than 12 GB are necessary.
The rest of more than 8 gb RAM is for system resources. Windows needs some memory in background too. 12 GB can be a pain in the arse. Same with 16! My own experience and observations tells me 32 or nothing.

Ya wrong their mate, I have 16gb and 1, with my 1080 I’m getting good frame rates with this game and 2, Windows 10 only uses between 2.8gb & 3gb of physical memory of witch my 16gb is only 18%.

I’m now looking at the game on my tv and I’ve also got my pc monitor with task manager open and it’s showing me that the game actually using 7.9gb 50% and that is with the background processes like apps and Windows running too, my system is running 163 background processes, so KCD only actually uses just over 5gb? So like I’ve said, 12gb is more than enough for this game but I alway use 16gb just for future proofing.

Even when I had 8gb before I bought another 8gb I never had and problems at all with other games around 2 years ago.

Yes tell me about it, Windows 10 sucks ass? Why they couldn’t keep windows 7 going and make all games run with it is just taking the piss. But what I’m not getting why aren’t they optimising Windows 10??? Because it can be good if they put the effort in.

I’m just glad I got it free because no way would I want to pay for this shite!

I say exactly the same with all games? We pay our money so they should make sure they are complete and optimised before they release them!
