I guess, 4gb might be a problem, but i can’t tell you for sure, cus never had 970 with 4gb.
What about me?
i5 4690k 3.5ghz (Not over clocked… Getting a new cooler and will turn it up a bit. This CPU bottlenecks my video card I think at factory settings.)
Kingstom HyperX Fury 16GB 1866mhz RAM
Sapphire Radeon NITRO+ RX 580 8GB (This car dis like 700 dollars now! I got it 6-7 months ago for like 300…)
Barricuda 2TB HD, 7200RPM.
Win 10 Pro.
Indeed G stays for GigaByte and 4 indicates in fact 4 GigaByte (actually for the 970 are 3,5 GB + 0.5 GB of VRAM).
There are no 8 GB version for the 970.
You can definetely play on ultra as the RX 580 matches the GTX 1060 in terms of performance.
What about my CPU?
Should I worry about a bottleneck?
I know Battlefront 2 runs horribly on my PC – I’m not sure if it’s due to a bottleneck or if the game just isn’t optimized very well.
In any case I have a Thermaltake NiC C5 aircooler on the way so I can squeeze a little more juice out of my i5 before I start building my new rig later this year or early next year.
Building PCs is really bad right now since video cards prices have inflated so much, not sure why. My video card saw over a 100% increase in price in less than 5 months.
Well Battlefront requires more CPU power than Kingdom Come Deliverance and you can see this by directly comparing the minimum and reccomended requirements of both games.
Your CPU performs better than the i7 3770 and plus your CPU can be overclocked, and that gives you another advantage. SO you will be able to play KCD at ultra settings at 1080p.
You’re right. Thank you for the input.
I guess I’m still really old school, processing power is more important these days than what it use to be.
My PC processor is a quad core Intel processor., My PC also uses DirectX 12.
You’re not old school at all mate. Simply newer titles requires a lot of CPU power, but that’s because they’re not quite optimized. Your i5-4690k can still run just any game. It’s all a matter of compromise.
