Yup. I’ve noticed that my “once top of the line” setup still can run modern games with only minor loss in quality.
GTX780 + 16GB of ram. Although, I’ve been eyeballing a new computer for this game because I suspect that my setup imght be a bit underwhelming. If not, it’s due to break sooner or later anyway after a lot of yeas in service. 
Make sure you’re not running any other programs/apps while playing and your computer should have more power over for the game.
that is what I have to do for my over-modded Skyrim for instance (which I just un-installed to make room for KC:D). 
Really hope that two GTX980, 16GB RAM, and a 4790k are enought to get decent FPS @ 1440P
Will see. Depents on the settings you want to use. 16GB RAM is currently more than any game needs. GTX980 is officially to weak for the highest settings but the processor is fast enough. So, you will have to test if it works with the highest settings.

Hahaha… I havn’t started that game for 3 months. And last time I did was to check out a mod that I un-installed right after.
I’ve spent more time playing Ultima Online and that game only takes a GIG or two.
