There are no updates in the patch notes about a future 1.5 patch. Are the 1.4x patches the last of them? Should we expect more patches beyond 1.4x?
I would think we will keep getting patches, just that 1.4 is the one that they’ve been aiming for for a few weeks, so it’s the last one of the list for now.
There are still issues with camera shake etc that need addressing and some other bugs that can be game breaking so I should think they will keep at it until it runs as intended.
I have to say though that I think WH have done a great job so far in fixing things, I know some people think that they’ve done a bad job and things should have been fixed faster but these things take time and they’re clearly putting all their resources into the fixes.
A pain as it is, staring a new game since 1.3.2 does seem to fix all the issues, I had the camera shake which stopped me playing but I started a new game and haven’t dropped anything in the world and I’ve had no issues at all sinve then, so I’d say that it is fixed now, it’s just the save files for saves before the patch that are still effected.
I agree that Warhorse are working very hard on the title. The frustration is that we are not sure whether we should continue with our present games, or even start a new game. Nor do we know what could be corrupted. I have tried saved games from 1.3.4 and 1.4 and both have impenetrable crashes. I could restart the game and play another 60 hours, but what if the new game also crashes at the same spot - 60 hours deep? I am happy to delete everything and start again, but only if these campaign progression bugs are sorted. (Hopefully they can fix the crashes without us having to start afresh)
You make a good point, I don’t really want to have to start over again, I’ve already started over twice. My latest new game hasn’t had any problems sonce 1.3.2 and I won’t be playing again until tonight, so it’s a bit worrying reading all the posts about the main quest after 1.4.1, I’m just about to start nest of vipers again which is where the problems seem to start now on that whole line, through to pestilence. Guess I’ll find out soon.
That being said, I do love the game and of I have to start again, I will if it helps as I’m not ready to give up on Henry and want to see it through to the end
Of course there will be a patch 1.5 and 1.6 … or even 2.0, but they could take more time to get released. First we will get 1.4.2, 1.4.3 … in the next weeks. I have the feeling the multicore tweaks are planned for later, because no mention in the changelogs of 1.4.
The only problem is that Warhorse is not an indie developer. When THQ Nordic say “no more patches” then we never get a polished game. In this case they should at least give us the source code that the community can continue bug fixing as it was with Gothic 3.
Please WH, no more patches. There are enough bugs in the game as it is
Really strange how obsolete data could get part of 1.4. This is something that must not happen for a professional studio. And the current game (30 GB) is smaller than the 1.3.4 setup (33,6 GB) so there may be missing files somewhere.
Smaller sizes didnt means that something was cut.
If a game gets optimization, it is one goal to shorten the code itself.
Rewriting a script to get the same result but improved, with more structure and easier variables. Same in a editor. You can have duplicated markers in a library and such things.
Maybe Warhorse removes duplicated, non used files and/or entries.
I guess the missing bytes are nothing which has to worry you.
And i think there will be more patches but give them a little bit more time than the last ones.
Good things want to have time
Yes, that’s right. But the problematic release of 1.4 where obsolete data got part of the patch and now cutscenes are still missing, quests are broken and many crashes after 1.4.1 let me assume that the current setup is still not as it should be.
What youre talking about ? They have full control over the game. And THQ is only distributor of physical copy.
Only distributor? From where did Warhorse get 37 Million euros budget?
I sincerly hope, there are huge amounts of animation and model fails which need to be patched out
