Will this laptop run the game near high settings?

So my new job requires me to travel a lot so I’m considering buying a gaming laptop. I don’t really want to spend a ton of money on a laptop because in the back of my mind I’ll be thinking I could have got an awesome desktop for a lot less…

So I’m considering getting this:
MSI 15.6" display
i7-7700HQ
GTX 1050 Ti
8gb ram
128gb SSD + 1tb HD backup

I am also considering this more expensive laptop which has a GTX 1060 but apparently people are saying it has some issues with cooling? So I’m more leaning towards the first setup I posted. Here is the link to the second option: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=psdcmw_13896615011_t1_B074VLX5XV

If anyone can link me to a better laptop around the same price range of $900 to $1000 then please do.

Anyone have a similar setup that can tell me how the game runs?

If you are lucky enough to not have bought the game already, stay away from it.
It have lot of game breacking bugs including crashes and corrupt save files

Notebooks are not good for gaming. Build a pc for the same price and you get better parts also. All notebooks will have overheating issues eventually.

You will never be Happy with a Laptop for gaming, But i think you know that.
Personaly i think its netter to Take the First one and Invest sind Money into RAM because that Looks kinda Low…even my 3,5 years old Laptop (Date of purchase) has 8gb, was around the Same Prince range (Bit Higher) Back then. Of course this only makes Sense If you can Upgrade the RAM without Losing warranty. Im not Sure with Msi…

Edit: oh and i would say upper medium settings with this…

This game is very RAM heavy but you should really be fine, as to the cough poor cough choice of gaming device, that’s just OP’s decision.

Don’t get a laptop.

Yea like I said I have to travel a lot. I cannot play this on my desktop with my new job. That’s the whole reason for the post…

I’m running a laptop with the following specs:

i7-6700HQ
GTX 1060
12GB RAM
256GB SSD + 1TB HDD

So pretty similar to the second laptop you posted. It runs on high settings well enough for me, sticking between 30-60. 30-45 in towns, 40-60 in the wilds.

To the people talking about how terrible gaming laptops are; it’s obvious that you’re going to get lower power for the amount of money you spend. The tradeoff is portability. I need to travel for work, and it’s nice to be able to take a relatively powerful computer with me when I do. Plus, that point about it being more expensive isn’t even accurate right now with how expensive desktop graphics cards are due to cryptomining. It’s actually more cost effective for OP to buy a laptop in the price range he’s thinking of until those prices drop.

I’m 60 hours in and had not one blocking bug, no crashes and no corrupt saves… I did have a lot of bugs though. So yeah, I suppose it depends on the PC !

Hmm. What brand is your laptop? Is it currently on Amazon or anything? I couldn’t find any that had 16gb ram for some reason…

It’s an MSI GE72VR 6F.
