Xbox One X version won’t start

Whenever I start the game it shows the title card, then crashes to home without any error message. This started after I fully patched the game (have been playing the base version without an internet connection for a while.)

-Going offfline doesn’t work.
-Hard reset doesn’t work.
-Other games, both digital and physical, still work. KCD is the exception.
-Have taken the disc out and put it back in multiple times, doesn’t work.
-Disc looks completely fine, no scratches or anything.

Any help or information on this problem would be appreciated.

Are you in Always On mode? Maybe switch to see if that makes any difference. Try reinstalling on the other mode as well.

Sorry but what is always on mode? I’ve never heard of that.

Your Xbox has a Always On mode which means you can switch it off and back on and won’t have to keep loading the games every time. Or Power Saver mode where Off really means off. You can change this in the settings.

But I think u need a clean reinstall of the game in offline mode. See if it starts up. The we’ll see if it’s ok with the first patch.

Can you reinstall in offline mode? Does that mean I’ll have to update it all over again? My internet is really bad and installing 26 gigs worth of updates took 2 days connected to the Ethernet cable.

That sucks. You should be able to reinstall using the disc in offline mode and you shouldn’t need to download a patch if ur offline to start it.

It’s okay. Thanks for the help. I rented this game so I might just trade it in for something else.

I’m having this exact problem with the digital version for One-X. I just completely uninstalled, redownloaded, then reinstalled and it’s persisting. It seems to be a problem with the One-X code in the most recent patch, as far as I can surmise. Please let me know if you find a fix.
