Please say this is not the version we are going to get next February: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN9JUTZ3ODM
This looks really weird. Could you comment on this video?
Looks right for current graphics, but I can’t rightfully comment on the dialogue movements. Someone from Warhorse will have to give you confirmation on that, given that it was published today (19th of December)
I’m really not fond of that ‘‘Thinker’’ pose of the guard at the start of the video. It just look unnatural I think they should remove it.
We also saw that pose from Rattay’s guard captain in that previous video where Henry goes for sword training.
You complained about stiff dialogues, here you have it, hysterical guard.
Also the movement of the soldiers in general looks very unnatural. They look like copy-paste objects when moving all at once. The group fight is clumsy and confusing, uninteresting. The facial expressions and body gestures are out of sync and like from the 2000s, not 2017. This video looks like from an alpha version and like someone compared to what we have seen in the recent month is just before the release trying to make this game turn into a disappointment.
this is what overblown expectations looks like.
the game looks fine for an indie title with a couple months of further polish ahead of it.
The comments posted in Ign are giving a heartache to the loyal kcd fans
typical ignorant normies mouthing off tbh. happens all the time. those people were never in any danger of being interested in a realistic medieval rpg so their opinions are irrelevant
No.
REAL KCD fans know the true…
You are here just missing the fact this game raised 1.1M on Kickstarter and the pre-order price does not in any way indicate this is an indie project (EUR 49.99 on Steam).
Serves you righ to give something to IGN. They made the most boring video ever and since many of us saw basically the same gameplay already except the dialog at the beginning I am sure it doesn’t do the game justice. I am still kind of worried about those facial animations though. On the other side if they are able to deliver decent story I don’t give a damn about it, because who needs another wonderfully looking sand box when the story is pathetic and unoriginal again.
Thay are going to release soon a new video to stop this shitstorm.
This’s good to hear. Sad, that people are so lazy to search for info. And there’s a bit of IGN’s fault of this shitstorm, tbh. They weren’t able to make some disclaimer to let people know about this gameplay footage(That this’s an older version and all the stuff and etc.).
But, because of this, we’re gonna get some new stuff from WH.
What does he mean? Cant imagine they would play an old build at IGN. Probably graphically, but that isn’t really the issue with the presentation.
New video, boys!
Maybe you are missing the fact, that indie doesn’t necessarily mean cheap prices or low a budget or small game. It means independent from a (big) publisher, and that mostly means more free creative choices and/or more time for development. And 1.1M for an open world 3D RPG Game with multiple game styles to choose from is’t that much.
the only thing i didn’t like was the fact, that the cumans mostly ignored the play and smetimes stopped fighting completely. but the fight itself looked more believable, than those hollywood poser fight scenes. Don’t get me wrong, i love those fight scenes very much, and i liked the fight system in the Mordor-series, but why redo the same unrealistic fight style, when you are trying to do something more realistically in all other parts of the game?
People are just requesting too high(much) from an indie studio. And i hate to say, the Witcher is the problem of it. Yeah, still some people are talking about Crysis, but it gone after the Witcher. Now they think, that all the games must be like the Witcher and nothing lesser.
P.S Maybe, i’m wrong, but this’s how i see this situation about the people complaints with sword fighting.
to be fair witcher has a fraction of the innovations and technologies required for the ai routines, combat mechanics, etc involved in this game. also most witcher fights are with amorphous blobs, there are no back and forth sword fights with procedural physics, just canned animations.
It’s being published by deep silver, the indie defense doesn’t really cut it IMO. I don’t think you qualify once you have a publisher and a billionaire investor.
