2 Years after Kickstarter started!

Once upon a time, there were two guys sitting in a pub in Prague thinking, ‘How about we create our own studio?’ Times were hard, people were negative, but those two guys found a fellowship of progressive (and crazy enough) people who shared the same dream.

After a lot of struggles and defeats…in the darkest of all situations…after everything looked like it was going to be a doomed project, we found a brave Lord who supported the fellowship and granted us the ring (and coins) to rule them all. But was the fellowship strong enough? Yes! Was the Quest risky? Yes! Will the quest be successful…not sure. The fellowship has proven that there is hope! On January 22nd 2014, we started our Kickstarter Campaign…and the fellowship started its epic quest to save the world from monotonic games.

We were extremely lucky…because without YOU guys, we wouldn’t have been able to enter this risky and dangerous path! It’s YOU who made all this and Kingdom Come: Deliverance happen. You are the Sam of our Frodo! THANK YOU!!!

Who was there with us right from the beginning? How do YOU feel now, after two years of development? How do you judge the progress of development? Are you excited to enter the BETA stage? When did you hop on the Kingdom Come Train??? Tell us what you think!

The only game I have ever supported on Kickstarter because of Battle of Grunwald, and promise of big Battles.

You will see a first battle in beta. But it will be a smaller of the bigger ones… even if that sounds rather strange

I started to hop on the Warhorse train in June 2014. I heard of it in March… the same month I realised that Daniel Vavra is my neighbour!

I missed the Kickstarter Campaign by few weeks but I been around ever since!

Would be nice not to take too much away from the story during the beta. So Alpha and Beta testers will not be bored once the final product will be released.

I didn’t preordered yet the Game, because i had some issues with paypal, so next Week will be the time when i get finally the Game. Truth to be told, i knew the Game since Kickstarter and were also excited since than, but i didn’t followed each step. The Problem for me is, that waiting for an Game is very frustrating. Kickstarter weren’t an Option, because i don’t have an credit card, also i missed the the point when you offered to preorder the Game on the Website.

But again, like i said i were excited for the Game. I mean 2 or 3 weeks ago, i talked with my nephew about some realistic Games, and we remembered of course of this Game, because besides Mount & Blade 2 this is the most awaited RPG for us, at least about the Games which offers an realistic style/setting. And than we’ve seen you can Fund/Preorder the Game already. So yeah.

Of course i’m excited for BETA, but i’m also excited for the Alpha, because i wait already for some weeks because(like i mentioned already) the issues with paypal. And let not forget the Final release.

On specific parts of the Game i’m not sure yet. Even though i don’t want talk down the capability of the Game yet, but i can’t imagine that this Game has as much replaybility as Mount & Blade (as example). In the other Hand it doesn’t seem like you Aim for that anyway(and of course it isn’t even needed to get an game for more than 300 hours, if you want to let us experience an unique experience and tell us an amazing, realistic story). You seem to want deliver us a realistic Story and thats the next specific part, where i’m not sure yet how to think. I myself enjoy alot of different Games/Settings. But, and that has nothing with you to do, its hard for imagine to get an great Story on realistic base. One thing, which already mentioned TobiTobsen(sorry i hope i don’t mistake you with someone else) in his German Interview. With Fantasy Games a lot of things are much easier to approach. You can make an Story with easy thing like Magic etc much more interesting. And i don’t have to be realistic, only follow its own rules/logic in this realm. With realistic Storys its much harder, to deliever an fascinating Story, also - which TobiTobse also mention, because a lot of things you already know if its an historical story(at least if you have a bit knowledge). The biggest Problem, but thats also an great opportunity for you guys, is that we haven’t seen an Game like this. Of course certain pieces are on other Games as well, but as an whole Game this is something new and fresh.

But enough from my negativ way. Please don’t misunderstand me, i don’t want to judge beforehand or something like that. This are only things where i’m unsure and i have to see/play myself - to clear up my little fears. Also there are a lot of things, which i already love. Don’t get the wrong image from me, i’m no-were one of these Gamers, which cares about Graphics. If a Game offers great Graphics i appreciate it, but it isn’t that important for me. Mostly i also prefer artistic graphics over realistic highend graphics. And Gameplay/story are much more important to me anyway. BUT Kingdoms Come looks amazing. And you guys have alot of respect for that from me. I know, cryengine is a powerful engine, but you seem to know how to use it well. Most impressive for me, since the beginning is, how realistic the Landscapes and Buildings looking. I live in Austria, so i know it’s not the exact same, but czech isn’t that far away either, thats why this shouldn’t be a surprise that a lot of the Landscapes looks similiar to where i live. As i saw the first Alpha Footage from Gronkh(german let’s player) i though: “heck this is like if i go outside through the Fields to the Woods”. And even that is an very fresh experience for me. Buildings as well, but only compared to the old ones obviously =P

Combat and Gameplay overall, obviously i’m hyped as well. If it would be ONLY the Landscapes/Graphics which lets me excite for the Game, i wouldn’t need this Game that much on an Alpha/Beta stage. Because for that youtube videos are enough. But the Combat looks really smooth, and the other things like stealing, alchemy etc looks funny as well. So yeah, suma sumarum, even though there are still some fears, i can’t wait for the Game. From what i’ve seen you have done a pretty amazing job, and can’t wait to see what comes up next =)

That is the most romantic-slash-creepy voayer-slash-stalker story I have heard today.

I don’t remember correctly how I discovered KCD but it was in late 2014. The game looked like a mixture of the games I was playing back then (Chivalry, Witcher…) which is why I pledged. Especially looking foward to the stealth gameplay :relaxed:

Pledged back on the 30th January 2014, and have been very pleased to watch the successful campaign and now this great community thrive over that period.

I’d never before backed anything on Kickstarter, and haven’t backed anything else to date. I just felt when I saw KCD that it was the manifestation of everything I’d been hoping and dreaming of in a game for so long; how could I not support it!!.. I had to try and make this game a reality, regardless of the risk, and in my own small way.

I’ve been hovering on the forums ever since they sprang into existence. And I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey with @warhorse so far.

Everything from the incredible and hotly anticipated video updates, the tech alpha, getting introduced to the team and the guys behind the scenes, the open discussions we have right here on the forums, the surveys to get our feedback… yea I mean the whole developer / backer / community relationship has really both amazed and astounded me. I never anticipated we’d have as much positive interaction and involvement with you guys as you’ve facilitated. And it’s just been great to be a part of

Long live Warhorse. Long live KCD :crown:

Cheers

Been here since the first blog post on the very first site of the game. There was actually just a video showcasing some terrain and a house and some blog entries about how to create proper terrain for a game. Even this tiny glimpse made me realise this is the game i want to support. And well i did, many of us did.
At the time those guys from warhorse had roughly 500 likes on facebook.^^

We’ve come a very long road and well to be honest … it makes me really proud being a part of it and seeing the progress WH is able to achieve. :slightly_smiling:

I have been here since kickstarter. Backed at my birthsday, as a gift for myself.
Tested the Alphas … a lot. Active in the forum since December 2014… and can´t wait for the Beta.
The kickstarter campaign ended on 20. februar. Maybe a good date for Beta1???

I remember the beginning before Kickstarter, a single video on youtube, showing the terrain and that house. Got to say, it worked and pulled me into the fold, followed from a distance until the Kickstarter campaign started. Brilliant work guys!

I am proud of supporting this game, even knowing that I became backer three weeks ago ±
A friend of mine had the wonderful idea, when the kickstarter appeared, to show me the game. I am a big fan of History, so he committed an error: I am anxious of this game gets released, or at least play the beta (yes, fuc**** Crimson drivers…).
Keep on this line, and give the Medieval period lovers a jewel.

This was really a nice text of you! You are right with your fears… we haven’t show you guys any story element yet. But this will change with Beta! So let us talk after Beta if you still have your concerns :slightly_smiling:

@snejdarek I assume you know the entire story right? It was even creepier than I described here :slightly_smiling:

@Earl_Thorn Oh wow … thank you! I tried to do my best back then. Now I have to concentrate on other parts of Communication so I can’t be here that often… but I think @DrFusselpulli does a great job… following my huuuuuuuuuuuge footsteps  haha

@sundancekid well… you made a good point. You guys have to realise that we are existing just because of you. This sounds very cheasy… but it’s the truth. Media helps us… but you support and carry us!

@Blacksmith you sir are nuts anyway! How many hoursof Alpha gameplay do you already have? 250 or such?!

@Warrior_Rose I wasn’t there… I started in June… but I was told that the entire Kickstarter process… from the start through the campaign was a huge psychosocial stress. Because you know… sink or swim.

@Tsunamik how did you feel about paying something that you’ll get several years later. Or in terms of Alpha… 6months later? Did you doubt or felt strange or something? I know this happend a lot in comunism and eastern germany times… but now we are in modern europe right?

@Eragerr you took a way lower risk but than other backers but this is not a bad thing at all. Because right now you are in duty of beeing an Alpha/Beta tester. The crimson driver problem for instance we wouldn’t find out with out the poor guys out there who have a problem right now  So keep up the good work and test the sh’t out of our game. If you report your bugs in a good way here at the forums @Hound and other QA + Team Leader can and will work on it!

@Wicker … and again we are one of the most anticipated games for 2016. This is very good… but also raises the pressure! Well… but challenge accepted!

I’ve been here since August 13th of 2014.

I found out about it from a list of upcoming games, I can’t even describe my fury when I found out how long I didn’t know about this… All wellXD

Well to be honest, I just believed Dan… If it was somebody else doing the game, I would have waited for final release, or atleast for experience of beta testers. But because Mafia 1 is among my top 5 games ever, I just believe, and hope  And haven´t regretted it for a second so far I must say

@LightningYu thank you, very long and detailed feedback. :slightly_smiling:

It is very interesting, so see all those different storys and what you all like about the idea of the game.

I was discovering about it at the end of 2014, as I was looking for some mediaeval themed rpg lets play. For that reason, I was looking for mediaeval rpgs… I found out about Kingdom come, and I was exited about it. And now, as a part of the community I work for this company.
