Alpha crashed before it even started

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000001d)

What is this shit?
I doubt my specs are the problem.
CPU: intel core I5-4440
GPU: GTX 770 4GB VRAM
RAM: 8GB

Same problem here…

CPU Intel Core I5-4690k
GPU: GTX 780 3gb VRAM
RAM: 16GB

When I klick start in Steam the loadingscreen pops up an it instantly crashes.

[EDIT: using WIN7 Ultimate/64bit]

Same problem

i5-4670k
8GB
Radeon 290
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
latest catalyst drivers

Same here:
i5-4690k
8GB
GTX 560

FYI second posting of this issue here: Alpha crashed before it even started

me too crashed before it can load , any ideas.
Is it a resolution problem? ,
what resolution are the people who have it running now ?,
what did they on start out with?

What is this shit?! A bloody ALPHA, stop moaning and EXPECT bugs, we are basically unpaid QA testers, find bugs and help make the game better

By telling dev what you do before it crashes

I hit the game start icon!!! and that’s a far as I got

Try checking the files in Steam for this app
Try launching with right mouse button > Run as administrator on the game icon

Whats your HW ?

Windows version, driver version, have you verified game cache, ran the game as administrator, try these things and tell us these things, don’t just expect the devs to know it immediately, AND don’t expect polish, at all

lol …
It´s called alpha - if you don´t know what an alpha version is about maybe you should wait for the final and polished product … omfg …

Ok, I don’t think people are moaning, they are probably just not sure the best approach to report bugs. As some people have pointed out, mentioning of hardware specs, windows version and actions taken to get the issue are probably a good start.

Anyway I resolved the issue for myself. I had re-installed Windows (7 ultimate) recently and hadn’t realised that I still didn’t have service pack 1. So I ran all important Windows updates (which required a restart) and I could then get the game to start.

Solution: Download C++ Redist 2013 from this site http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

Select 64 bit

Click to REPAIR if it is already installed.

I tested and it does not change anything for me

Same here: This is what I get:

GTX 980
Intel 4790K
Win 7
Irish

Plenty examples out there:
SOTA example

You said it all. I wouldn’t give a damn about the in game bugs… I would already cry of joy if i reached the menu screen.

When the game was downloading i was like this.

But when i wanted to launch the game i was like

And then

And that’s why we need to report this… So the devs know a lot of people can’t start their games… That’s why alphas exist.
