Yes, exactly
on the expanse of other NPCs
but maybe battlefield will be a special location so that all non-essential assets will be loaded of the memory and CPU
including any astray dragonflies or rocketcats

Has anyone played the Ryse game yet? I’m just curious because in all videos I have seen there has been always limited number of NPCs around and they sort of came in waves to the view
that’s the limitation of active AI NPCs in CryEngine I have in my mind.

cough more Falcons cough

I really hope they don’t make the wolfs the “bloodthirsty” beasts they are in most games, as its as far from the truth as you can get : /

Well, if you want realistic wolves, they don’t need to add them in the game at all
You would be lucky to just see them in a long distance, not mentioning actual encounter

Random attacks will be annoying from animals, but I really cannot wait to go hunting in the game. I loved doing it in Red Dead Redemption, even though I didn’t do it as much as I’d like to. It’s just a fun thing to do. I also think the dog companion is going to work out great.

Seen a Tetrao urogallus, quite angry it was.

Two notes though -

1.Bears generally don’t roar or rarely do so. Brown bears especially are not prone to vocalization. Tongue clicks and grunts are common, expelling of air in various patterns - which could mean any number of things, depending on the body language. When they actually attack little or no vocalization is given.
2. Eagles don’t scream, that is a hawk. Eagles do a sort of chirping call, that is their chatter essentially - “Top of the morning Bob!” type of stuff.

It might seem silly, but games always get those two wrong. Annoys me every time.

Also animals generally don’t attack unfamiliar prey and never attack a group unless mental. I imagine this is well known, but just in case. In terms of flight or fright, flight is more common. Mating seasons and cubs are another matter though even then warding off not charging in, is more likely. Most beasts keen of smell or hearing - will just avoid a threat.

It’s true, I was present on that battle, these cats kick ass!

Tezmonkeys

I could of swore I remember seeing a grey cat when I first few hours of the game day one, Im almost certain of it. I believe the cates were removed very early in one of the first patches.
