The X came out last year, you don’t seem very wary of the situation.
And the X has more bandwidth and ram than a 1070.
GTX 1070 = 256GB/s and 8GB of VRAM.
Xbox One X boasts 326GB/s and 9GB of VRAM dedicated to games, so yeah … “blowing out of the water”, I wouldn’t say that.
A 1070 coupled with an i7 will perform way better than an Xbox One X, no question.
But again it depends on your build, this is why it’s not realistic to compare PC to a console because it’s volatile and depends on how much money you throw in your rig.
Xbox One X will perform better than a budget PC, and it’s only $500. It’s a good piece of hardware for the price and offers some high-end graphics for people who don’t want to bother with managing/building/maintaining a PC rig.
I’m planing on building a PC again in the near future for Star Citizen, but I’m going all out.
Aiming at 1.5K/2K computer, not even including the 4K monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc…
So yes, gaming on PC is definitely the best you can get in terms of experience, but you need to invest big bucks for it to be consequently better. Otherwise it’s not worth it, but that’s my opinion.
The gtx 1070 has been out for what? 2 years almost?
Maybe, and yet it’s still the same price as an Xbox One X that came out last year and features everything you need out of the box to game. A GTX 1070 alone is useless if you don’t already have a rig.
