Calling all PS4 Players - What's the Experience Like?

Hi all,

I have been eagerly anticipating playing Kingdom Come Deliverance, but haven’t yet bought the game simply because I have been put off by the seemingly never-ending reports of significant bugs. I have been following the patch history of the game right up until the current time (1.4.3) and I’m still seeing reports of major bugs, ie, severe camera shake being a reoccuring theme. I’ve also seen proof that the graphics have taken another hit following the latest patch.

Can anyone who plays the game on PS4 / PS 4 Pro comment with their gameplay experience(s) and advise whether I should take the plunge or wait for more patches?

Thanks,
Ben.

I’m about to finish the game, have played 150+ hours and haven’t faced serious bugs except save issue on ps4 Pro. No stutter, crashed a few tımes, no bugged quests etc. Maybe i am one of the lucky mınorıty. Altough it would be nice if game had notified me about reaching the maximum save limit.

On the gameplay side, it is one of the best experience i’ve had on my ps4. I’m really trying not the finish the game

It’s a definite improvement, as far as I’m concerned. The game looks smoother and lots of bugs are resolved. Go for it, by all means.

Apparently pixelated rain hasnt been fixed, users are still getting lag, stutter and graphics have been downgraded in areas again. How is this an improvement.

Surely you didn’t anticipate that patch to fix everything, did you? I advise patience…

Several folks have been able to play the game smoothly on PS4 with no issues…

I have not been one of them. Just started a playthrough after reloading the whole game and the newest patch yesterday… I haven’t gotten very far in the game yet… but already experienced one bug. Minor spoiler at very beginning of game: On the Run! mission, after the cut scene where you get shot in the leg with an arrow… when gameplay resumed, my horse disappeared and I was surrounded by cumans who killed me before I could do anything. When I continued from save, I was on my horse again, and riding away from the cumans.

I think this is hilarious because after running through the opening sequence like 7ish times, this is a new one for me. So… brand new bug… after the latest patch…

I did get a fancy new haircut and a beard “shaved” onto my face… and I found a red easter egg… those should make up for any frustration I feel later in the game if i experience the “slow motion” syndrome that made me quit playing the game before the patch. /sarcasm

No, didn’t expect it to fix everything - just the GAME BREAKING issues.

Playing since day one, i think IT s the most enjoying game i ve played since years, i play on ps4pro and no Major bugs encountered! Rain sometimes is pretty ugly but Who cares, npc usually walk in front of you without trying to avoid you… But Who cares!
This game is pure “WOW”!

Would it be a fair assumption to make that a lot of the issues people are now experiencing aren’t game breaking? Also, is it less likely I will encounter bugs starting from a new game with patch 1.4.3 installed from the off rather than several hours into the game?

I empathize with you, pre-patch was a nightmare but now my game has been smooth. I’m not denying the bugs (pixelated rain isn’t game breaking btw) but ranting about them constantly is getting quaint. Also, discouraging new players is not a solution either. Experiences differ.

Just so I’m not misunderstood, this game isn’t for everyone even if it was bug-free, in my opinion.

I’ve played from day one. I’ve had crashes once in a while, there were areas in the game where I ran into invisible walls (climbing the stairs in Rattay, leaving a room, etc…), I’ve had my save corrupt one during a 90+ hour gameplay; but I was able to finish the game.
Despite the bugs, the game and content itself is pretty good. If you’re patient enough you deal with a buggy game, I’d say get it. If you’re patient enough to wait a while until they iron out all of the issues, I’d say do that.

My PS4 vanilla was still downloading the latest patch when I left for work, but until now, touch wood, I’ve not had any game-breaking bugs. Some lost time to minor crashes, but over 250 hours game play, completed Main Quest, and overall a truly enjoyable experience. I never had the shake/stutter. My single biggest complaint is probably the quality of the rain.
I’m looking forward with eager anticipation to the next Act, and anything Warhorse produces in future.

Patience is waiting week after week of being told a patch will come only for it to be delayed after recertification multiple times and when it does eventually come it the problems still persist for people and they couldnt even fix the minecraft rain? Yawn…

Where is Justin1? He needs to be here telling everybody how great it is and how he has had no issues.

I’m playing on ps4 slim. I had a couple of crashes when it first came out but nothing recently. If you like deep RPG’s this game is a must buy. Nothing else comes close. What can I say Dante, its true.

We will have to disagree to agree.

Vanilla PS4

1.4.3 fixed my MQ bug, Erik not in Vranik. Have moved forward without issue.

Sometimes, I’ve experienced fine detail and layered clothing reconciliation rendering issues when close up. It lags some secs. LOD changes seem to have improved other pop-in issues, but racing Rattay still failed (outer bridge didn’t render before horse on it).

Light rain looked better… though at times a little pixelation was evident. No hard rain yet so can’t tell if Missile Command rain has been addressed

Halberds haven’t despawned yet but game doesn’t have any stuttering. Performance wise … I have no complaints as of right now

I’ve never had halberds appear in my game. I’ve had bugs where I walk into a house and can’t walk back out through the open doorway. My questions and answer quest broke the main quest line for me. I tried all the workarounds everyone had on here, but none of them worked. The guards are at the lookout point at least now. **(after reloading a save before i started the questions and answers quest, after redoing the pestilence one, after the patch) This is the only game I’ve ever played where I could not continue progressing. Seriously, I never ran into a bug that I couldn’t fix by reloading the game. I’m going to start a new play through.
With that said, this game has a learning curve, and it’s a bit difficult. But I love it I’m not going to stop playing for a while.

To be honest, I bought the game, played it for 3 full days practically just to understand the controls and gameplay, and after 3 days of endless frustration, I opted out and stopped playing all together. I keep an open forum page on my iPhone to look though bug patches and check what has been fixed and once I feel they actually have done something good to fix the game, I’ll play, but as of right now in its current state, there’s things i don’t want to have to experience and do all over again. So I’m playing a real fun game called “the waiting game”. So we will see how warhorse does as time goes on. I think it’s a EA situation where the studio created something great but only finished it to fit a need for money. So thanks warhorse! Ya got me!

Just finished explaining my point of view and I don’t mind repeating my self.
What we weren’t told us that on ps4, and ps4 only, you quickly run out of space if you don’t delete some of your saves.
Once I was made aware of that and started deleting a lot of unnecessary saves, or more to be honest, I have since had a very smooth experience.
Sure, I guess the game still may have some
bugs.
Would have been nice if Warhorse made us aware of this but they probably didn’t know either.
At least, that’s been my experience.
Don’t confuse making wrong quest decisions with bugs. If you decide to kill Pious in the needle in a haystack quest, instead of arresting him, your stuff will be with the stolen marker.
I can’t say with certainty of course, but that’s because you are considered moving forward, in gameplay as Eric. I arrested pious and you end up with a cutscene in the Rattay jail and the Bailiff says he’ll get you your stuff and your stuff isn’t marked stolen.
Anyways, have fun people.
