Character hungry or thirsty?

Do you think our character will have to eat and drink to stay alive ?
And have to sleep to get better skills in fights or in general ?

It sounds like a good idea to me, what do you think about hunger and sleep management ?

Well, they say they want to make a hardcore RPG and the idea of basic needs such as these seems reasonable to put in such a game, but I do not know if it will fit with the flow of the game (If it’s going to be inconvenient or that you never have time for it or if it is just an annoyance ). But I think the early beta and Alpha will prove useful in finding out if such a system would be good for this game.

I believe they’ve already said that you have to eat/drink and sleep in the game. They’ve gone into detail about food spoiling if it’s in your inventory to long, so food is definitely important.

Yes, they have said you’ll have to eat and sleep in the game.

Yes, this will definitely be a part of the game as they have stated, it will be interesting to see how it is implemented.

Can’t say I’ll miss eternally unspoiling and needless food (Yes Skyrim, I’m talking to you…)

Really hope they add an optional super realism/hardcore mode.

I know they’re thinking about it (Dan mentioned it in a recent video), fingers crossed.

I’m excited about this concept.
I forget the name of the mod, but i did something like this to skyrim.
I’m also guessing food/drinks will be more easily accessible than it is in games like Dayz

I love the idea that it will make you slow down to think about basic needs. I assume this will affect npcs too?

I truly couldnt tell you.
Im sure companions that are with you would be susceptible.

In their NPC update on kickstarter, Warhorse mentioned how the NPCs would have their own daily routines (i.e going fishing, farming, bar hopping) so possibly getting some food is one of these cognitive routines.

Realistic Needs & Diseases (RND) is one that I use and Imp’s More Complex Needs is another.

RGS thats it, RND! cool concept none the less

If Warhorse wants to make this game even more realistic than it already is, I would say this hunger/thirst factor would draw the player into the world even more. Sleeping is already in current RPG, but just as a time passer more or less. I feel sleeping could be implemented in order to fully restore your characters stamina at 100% versus only restoring to 80% if you don’t sleep. Food for thought.

I think the mechanics would be interesting if implemented realisticly

It’s going to be amazing! I agree with sleeping in current games is kinda pointless. I imagine if you don’t sleep your vision will become blurry n wobbly

They’ve already released it in some of their videos that food, drink and sleep is needed to function properly, and that there will be backlash if you don’t have these things.

\Hunting is already in the game… And what about fishing?

In some of the footage they showed a npc with a fishing rod. I think they player will be able to grab on of these too to fish.

They mentioned mining, cooking, fishing, smithing and alchemy in the live stream.

It was in the “Living World” update. they re-tasked a farmer to go fishing to show how adaptive the daily schedules could be.

Crafting & Activies:

And I think that was just from the top off his head.
