Cross hair for consoles would be really helpful its almost impossible for me to hit the targets without one and makes the game alot less enjoyable because you cant win properly
A non-permanent marker(or a little postit) could helpâŠ
i think you need to get good
This is true, but in reality there is no crosshair.
Yea but, yeah but.
It ruins the immersion to have to practice and practice some more.
Haha it ruins immersion to have to practice?
What do you think immersion is??
Look over the arrow to aim and release at the point your bow string is cracking.
Start practice at rattay archery range to get the hang of the movement of your arrow in relation to your target.
Practice is a main feature in this game.
just stick some blu-tack on your screen
No, itâs the HUD that ruins immersion. A game that is about 100 % immersion has no HUD and no crosshair.
It isnt about the crosshair.
The cross hair wouldnt guarantee hits.
This isnt a corridor shooter typically rewarding players skill (dexterity) with reward- tgis is a proper roleplaying game where it is Henrysâ bowskill that limits ability to hit.
You have to raise Henrys bowskill.
Many people unfamiliar with this type of roleplaying game seem to not understand this fact.
The gameplay is governed by character stats (not players ability with a controller).
Wuuuttt? You mean thereâs no x-ray vision?!!
Oh! Thatâs another thing. I donât like not knowing if thereâs a guard in a locked room, or a bandit hiding around a turn in a cave. I want a mod to highlight enemies through walls, so I always know whatâs coming and Iâm never caught off guard.
yeah cool there should be respawn pods in the middle of woods so that if i die, i can just resume where i died nearby. like BIOSHOCK!
And a grapplehook mechanic from just cause.
And more xenomorphs- everything is better with xenomorphsâŠ
Playing KCD simply isnt for some people.
Lots of players new to Killzone didnt like that weapons had weight - that aspects of roleplay were âforcedâ on them.
Like when battlefield players finally learn that the crosshair over a target doesnt giarantee a hit. (Lying prone and holding ones breath will improve accuracy).
Ive used a bow.
When I was 11 I couldnt stand how a bow wasnt easy to use. Iâd point at the target (no crosshair) and Id miss.
Not being a compound bow, after awhile of holding, loaded/drawn, my arms would start to shake and my accuracy would drop.
KCD emulates (roleplays) a living world.
The crosshair with the sword is a game mechanic, needed for fluid technical combat. The system used on a bow simulates bows.
They both work.
Most people have the dexterity enough to hit a target with a melee weapon (and be deflected/blocked by a more skilled opponent)⊠most people wouldnt get close to a rabbit sized target or a human sized target at ten metres/thirty feet.
Not âheadshotâ accuracy anyway.
People seem to think that a crossshair would equal âheadshotâ accuracy.
It wouldnt- not until the player got good- at which point they would probably more enjoy the chance to miss by being caught up in the action of the moment- adrenaline pumping (save system keeps this game adrenal during combat)- in combat, until confident, we are going to be very âHenryâ.
Good role playing game.
Maybe the digital store fronts and retail spaces need to make the category of game more obvious in this highly cosumerable world. Sometimes people buy into things they dont understand.
I thought the game was relatively good at getting the message across -though the amount of new KCD players complaining how hard it is to kill every bandit during Skalitz attack at start of game (when game tells us to ârun awayâ) kinda shocks me.
Sure, some are experienced gamers doing it for fun- but many are just trying to play this game as if it is Doom in the wilderness.
Fair to say that the combat wouldnt be to their taste.
This is a medieval simulator with some great systems.
It isnt "kill peasant 2000 super deluxe hyper fighting enhancedâ edition.
On that note, where did I leave my copy of âsuper puzzle fighter 2 turbo xââŠ
If only shooting a bow (depressing R2 on PS4) required an equivalent amount of strength (force)
Using present analog triggers as analog could have different pull amounts drain different amounts of stamina (encouraging users to yank it a little before a shot)
This could add a useful/fun mechanicâŠ
Keyboard and mouse players would miss out (boo hoo bloody lockpick masters)
I said before I wonât bother with posting here anymore because most people seem to be too childish, constantly complaining about how hard the game is and never offering any solutions but Iâll put my two cents in on this issue one last time.
A while back already i mentioned how you can use the yellow dot , , for aiming, that shows when Henryâs not armed and I received nothing but ridicule.
So, for the last tim, the sun goes d, wait, thatâs not it.
When hunting or at the shooting range, so not sheath bow and aim with yellow dot, then sheath and shoot!
Doesnât work as well with Bandits rushing towards you and constantly moving around but with a little practice, youâll win a lot of archery contests!
Shooting medieval bow requires training and a bit of âintuitionâ. You have to be one body and mind with your arrow. I like the way it is now. I like challange too
Nah challenge sucksâŠ
Better to win always.
Every shot a headshot.
No fear. (Not cause we are brave but cause things are easyâŠ)
Most issues here are to do with delaying gratificationâŠ
I really like the bow mechanic and the way you need to practise and get a feel for it.
I used the technique of aiming with bow slung, then unslinging and shooting for a long time- this started to give me the feel for aiming.
Then with more difficult targets like deer, chumps or humans, I started practising with bow out and no yellow dot at all.
It has taken a while but now Iâm pretty good at using the bow.
I think it would be horrible and really remove the immersion if there was a permanent reticle, I really support the devs decisions on this.
Itâs easy enough to stick a little dot on your screen if you really need the help.
At first I was unhappy about no Cross Hair for bow.
But after practice and nailing the target, very rewarding!
