As in, you can only get a certain tier horse at certain parts of the game? I started this on a recent playthrough and really enjoy it as it gives the ability to try different horses in the game rather than just the “best”. I found that Trojan is one of my favorite horses in the game by doing this. Was just curious if anybody else did something similar.
Well I still have Pebbles 70 hrs in, noble saddle and noble horseshoes, will change to military shoes soon. I don’t mind how slow he is. Sometimes it’s not point a to point b, I like to enjoy the journey.
Same thing, Pebbles only I didn’t really grasp the idea of tiers. What is it, really?
As far as my understanding, tier 5 is the best and tier 1 is inferior. I think capacity, speed, and stamina play into determining what tier the specific horse falls on into.
used Olena (Skalitz escape horse) till bolted in an attack never to be seen again. next, rode around on Pie (Uzhitz quest horse) for a while. and then, ‘borrowed’ a Sasau monastery horse till it died near Miller Peshek’s door step. by then, had enough money to get a higher tiered horse (Warhorse Jenda)
Pebbles the whole way. Loved pebbles. Never needed anything faster, or with more carrying given saddlebags (and you that you can carry infinite if it’s on you rather than the horse)
Once I sampled 70 speed, nothing else was satisfactory. I will and have murdered a small army to get my hands on Sleipnir as soon as possible in a playthrough. I have placed a different restriction on myself however after being forced in to it initially by using a stolen mount. I no longer whistle for the horse and instead place a marker on the map where I leave it (if I remember…) and return to it when I need it. Kind of wish this was added to the game at some point, but it sure makes fleeing an enemy a heck of a lot more thrilling.
Also, screw Pebbles.
and if your horse gets spooked, what then?
lol Fighting words!
I… didn’t grab the horse as I fled the battle and am still hoofing it around the joint on foot! I know I’m losing out on saddlebag space, but other than that, I’m not fussed on getting out there and walking up and down those forest paths.
I’ll get the horse when I go hunting with StuckUp McStuckUp, but until then, my boots will wear thin.
Sooo i bought Epona from zora before i went hunting with capon. beast is decently fast and has incredable stamina however she gets spooked waaaaaay to fast if theres Just one bandit shouting at me i got thrown off. However i also got pebbles as a side horse that got given to me by hanush ofcourse so now i got bear in mind master huntsman Henry with 4 steeds at his home aka: pebbles, Olena, zoras doubled Grey and Al Baruq
How do you do this? I wanted to keep Pebbles too when I got Al Baruq but I don’t see her anywhere and I had to “trade her in” to buy Al Baruq.
As soon as I found Bucephalus, there was no need for another horse.
I bought Warhorse Jenda as soon as I could, and never looked back. I plan on doing the same on my next play through.
I always placed a horse restriction on myself in Skyrim (didnt need one and preferred pocking the botany/smelling the flowers)… comparitavely KCD is so huge I wouldnt imagine trekking the landscape without one would be the norm…
Still I am mostly on foot; but will use horsefootery for longer focused playsessions…
Something Skyrim never got me to do.
The sense of scale in bohemia is massive.
I rarely used a horse in skyrim. I honestly didn’t like the look of them.
Basicly i bought an horse before i started training with Bernard by the time you go hunting with capon you get a cutscene where you chase the boar together and Hans his horse gets shot by the cumans you kill Them and same as before you get hanush telling Bernard to give you a steed for you and there you have it pebbles standing at the stables waiting. For you next to the soldiers to go to Neuhof. And acting the same as Olena and the doubled Grey from zora
Plus Epona was like 700 Groschen however there is a tier 1 horse in uzhits worth 170 groschen of you are low on money
For me they should have put some kind of statistic restriction on horses (strenght, agility, horsemanship) as it is for the weapon. In this way there would be a progression on horse possession instead of buying the “best horse” in the beginning of the game.
When i hit 10k i declared myself a robber baron and with it came Al-Buraq.
Pebbles went to a nice farm to live out her days
