Dudes its so broke. hahaha

This morning I tried to play the bailiff in a dice game, when we were done he wouldn’t stand up. game broke
researched it and you have to lose the game on purpose to get past it.
about an hour later i untie hans from a tree after i kicked some cumin ass and i got a black screen with a never ending spinny wheel. game broke.
researching it now…
i spend more time researching bugs for this game then actually playing the game. the game is fun as hell but every hour or so it breaks in some new and fun way.
its worse than Oblivion on day 1. hahaha
whatever its still fun. did you not bug test the game at all? like the main quest? i get it if you are some side quest fetching logs for a mill guy trying to make $5 and the npc just stares at you…but this is the main friggin quest line. its like you made the game and never played it before selling it.

Another youngster that has no idea how the modern gaming industry works… why did you buy at launch if you can’t handle bugs ??? We are the game testers millions of us… It’s the only way to get the feedback needed in this modern world as the games are so big.

No mate, we have early access and game preview programs for games that aren’t finished and full of bugs. Selling it for $60 and not being honest about the state of it is not acceptable. Why be derogatory calling him a youngster just because he’s not happy buying a broken product. Your making it sound normal that games are completely broken at launch but that just isn’t the case, some games have the odd hiccup and it’s fixed within days. We’re a month after release and this game is no closer to any actual fixes for most of the biggest bugs reported. If you think that is an acceptable business practice then your adding to the problem.

“how modern gaming industry works”. No, I’m not buying that nonsense.

Who said perfect? I’m talking broken… and I can name thousands of games not broken at launch. If I had to name a few that have been perfect at launch for me recently then. I’ve had zero issues with AC origins, horizon zero dawn… Christ I can even name indie games like star dew valley lol.

An alternative solution is to practice patience. i.e.

1.Put KCD on hold and wait for a future update
2.Return to playing whatever RPG/FPS games you were previously enjoying. Or better yet,
3.Push back from your keyboard/controller and
4.return to enjoying life in the real world.

Either way, just acknowledge the fact you can’t do a damned thing until the update comes out.

If your game continues being broken after said update, then rest assured the solution is simple. Just follow these steps:

  1. Keep calm
    2.Relax
3.Begin at the beginning with Step #1 above

I’m not in the habit of buying things only to put them on the shelf gathering dust unless it’s an ornament/decoration. The only time I’ve done that is when buying into an early acces title for half the price and coming back every now and then when the devs add and finish new bits.

Hmmm you forgot option number 4. Get a refund and tell others what they are really buying. Which is an early access game preview title dressed with a triple A price tag. That would mean I can do a damn thing about it.

The game was on beta since 2014. Alot of the bugs we are encountering were identified in 2014 and its still appearing. I buy a finished game not this crappy messy buggy game where I spend more time looking for bug fixes rather than playing the actual game.

I have to agree. I have 5 quests that are unable to continue and the game crashes about every 30 minutes.

I love the game and continue patiently playing and waiting for the upcoming patch. I’ll remain positive but yeah the game is in pretty rough shape.

Playing on Xbox.

how to work around the crash bugs: no fast travel, save and load every time you want to check the quest log and be still when opening inventory/map. following this I never have a crash. you might be able to fast travel if you save and load it before but I haven’t tried that i’m actually enjoying no fast travel.

OP is right. I still love the game and respect Warhorse. But they have to admit, they botched this one by rushing it out before the major bugs have been fixed.
I understand that releasing a bug-free game at launch is almost impossible - for a non-linear RPG with a large open world.
So, I certainly wasn’t expecting the game to be flawless at launch. But the scale of bugginess is the worst I’ve ever seen from any game, and yes it’s far worse than any Bethesda game, including Oblivion (at launch).

Anyway, this is in the past. People make mistakes, and Warhorse is a new studio, so I forgive them. But, now I expect:

  1. Patching out 90% of the bugs as quickly as possible
  2. Apologizing for bugs
  3. Making sure all future games are tested more robustly.

don’t expect your second point to fall through, the devs are in denial.

Yup… all you seem to hear is they did so well with a small team and 10% the budget of other AAA titles… my answer to that was “why was it sold for more than most triple A titles then?” They are all patting themselves on the back thinking they have achieved great things so they won’t apologise. In reality they have achieved great things for the size and budget for an indie Dev but it’s just too many bugs to praise them.

They are working on fixing the game. They don’t have time to “apologize” to everyone who encountered these bugs.

As many who have said this too you neon,

  1. Report the bugs
  2. Wait for patch
  3. Refund if you are impatient (unless you have already, in which why tf are you still on this forum?)

Game breaking bugs that were reported in beta in 2014 are still in the game, so am not getting my hopes up.

It’s not like they’ve updated the game in the last few weeks or anything.

Patch 1.2.5 made more bugs for me that I lost my saves. I didn’t buy the game to wait for a patch, play two days, and then wait for another.

You must be new to game developement.

News flash kid, fixing bugs adds more bugs that were unnoticed.

Well I bought many games on day 1, never encountered this amount of game breaking bugs in a game.
