I am so excited about the new female character being added to the game! What traits do you hope this character will have? Some guy on Twitter said that he hopes she has big boobs (which is funny) but other than that, I truly hope here we will have a complex and sarcastic character, perhaps even a future romance interest? Here’s to hoping that Warhorse will chime in and drop hints or details in this thread.
To be honest, I would trade it for motion-capturing in a blink of an eye
Hopefully it seems that there will be both woman character mission and motion capturing in the end.
Yes, motion-capturing is going to be awesome too! I’m excited not just because this is a female character, but because it means more plot and side-missions! I hope that Warhorse will soon divulge more details about the story and characters soon. I’ve heard a lot of people compare it to M&B, but I didn’t really enjoy Mount and Blade because it didn’t have enough structure, like it was too open.
We’ve got 17 days left, that should just about be time enough to getup to 700k.
Since she saves the main character it would be cool if she stays as a recurring NPC throughout the main game, maybe you even get to save her later on, teammate style. Although I hope she isn’t too sarcastic, its a bit of a lazy/cliche way to show a ‘strong female character’. Complexity is good tho.
I hope she will be sharp tongued and her relation to the main character could be a bit like the one between Robin and Marianne in BBC’s “Robin Hood” in it’s back and forth between liking each other a lot and being competetive towards each other and not being able to give any room for the other to “win” in this “competition of wits”… that would be awesome.
i don’t think so. woman tend not to advertise their intellect in this period. i’d like to see a subtler portrayal.
To develop my earlier post I am looking for more of a Brienne of Tarth type character; competent, strong in both senses of the word, complex, and well written. Instead of Jack from Mass Effect, who is annoying as hell. Hopefully the relationship will be close to Brienne and Jaime’s later relationship in GOT, mutually supportive and based on respect.
i love this game!!!
I agree with this. It’s hard to distinguish real women of this era from the Hollywood portrayal, and I trust Warhorse to get it as right as they can given there aren’t any around to double-check with.
I hope they don’t make the mistake of creating a female character that doesn’t fit in a realistic game like this, just to make the game more popular (huge boobs, surreal and sexy outfits, chainmail bikinis XD ). I trust you, Warhorse, don’t fall for that!
Literature like “Iwein” (written around 1200) or the “Nibelungenklage” (earliest written versions also around that time) beg to differ. So I would relly like a female character with sharp wits.
Sorry there should be No Romeo, she should be focused on a quest and gameplay style should require a lot of stealth and hiding in shadows from the man.
She should be a smart, strong, and skillful in stealth. Also she should look hot (motivates people to play her)
How about a character that’s gameplay is the opposite of whatever you make yours. I sure there is going to be a weapon’s triangle or something. What if its as if you are playing Blue (i call him douchecake) from the original Pokemon series where they take the weapon that is superior to yours. Of course that would have to lead to a final battle at the end. I wouldn’t mind seeing a female villain or two tho. Cheers~
you’re forgetting that she’s a commoner, not involved in the political level, nor of high social stature. why would she be advertising her intellect when it could get her in trouble?
sharp tongued peasant girl=hollywood invention
I’d believe physical appearance is a highly optional approach, and should not be considered as a part of the final product. Looking ‘hot’ is subjective, beauty is within the eye of the beholder.
That’s interesting, and good point relating to pokemon.
My question is how long is her little “saving hero” adventure? Is it part of the “30+ hours” or will it be like an hour or two?
Miller’s daughter could be a good place to showcase the non-warrior skills, those related to bards and thieves, also for tutorial purposes.
That would be an interesting way to handle a tutorial indeed. Depending on the duration of her campaign/questline it could also serve as a sort of introduction to characters or areas in the main game.
