Today I had the famous meat pot from Rattay, very tasty, love it!
did you really made irl the awful orange looking food in every cooking pot of Bohemia ?
I think the recipe is the same in whole bohemia.
You’ve must’ve been feeling quite hungry.
Sure for people who only eat fast food or pizza it may not look good…
This was not made for the photo. We use this recipe since a long time!
+25 hunger
And where is the recipe? Come on, give it to us! I have to know what I did to Henry when I forced him to eat from every pot I found …
I will have a look. You don’t have to force henry, he loves it! Did’nt you hear that?
What is it called?
The recipe:
- 750 gr. mixed (50% pork & 50% Beef ) minced meat.
- A ring of meat sausage
(“https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51stw9%2BBf6L.SX425.jpg”) - three slices of Kassler
(https://richmeats.capetown/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/kasseler-kassler.jpg) - 400 gr. sieved tomatos
- 200 gr. liquid milk cream
- 1 bottle Maggi Texicana Salsa

Cut all the meat in small pieces (cubes)
NO NEED to roast the mixed minced meat or the other ones a little in a pan!
Put all together and cook it 175 C for 1 hour in an oven.
happy cocking!
East it with bread or cooked potatoes.
It’s called “Meat pot”.
A lot of meat, with Tomatos and seasoning sauce, simply said.
Great Job that looks sooo good man. nice!
Probably tasty, but not much european-medieval. Those tomatoes …
In medieval cuisine red color would come probably from peppers - not as vegetable (which is relatively modern use), but as spice. I can’t think of anything else.
All types of Paprika came from the new world with Columbus 15xx. That was many many years after henry.
The well-known hungarian paprika has its source from latin America.
Goulash…Hmmm
looks like a home made chilli con carne as we do it in czech rep - minced meat, sausage, beans, tomato …
That looks delicious !
Being from Texas, USA, I thinks it’s hilarious you guys use a food product over there named “Texicana Salsa” lol
Really! I was almost sure that peppers (paprika) have Asian origin. I was wrong then, thanks for info.
