Game loads but freezes

Hello All,

New pledges here and excited to be entering the world of Kingdom Come.
I have downloaded the Alpha build and installed it with no problems I think, only trouble is once I press New Game it seems to take forever to load and then once it does it shows a black screen with HUD and sticks like that for while. After this happens the game does show the foot path but the graphics haven’t fully loaded up and I cannot move at all. Upon pressing CTRL ALT DEL it says the game is not responding, this is the furtherest I can get and haven’t been able to experience the game as of yet.

Any help would be great folks!

Could you please post a DxDiag file and attach it here in the forum, so we can take a closer look at this problem?

I think I did it right,

I did uninstall the game and installed again to see if it worked, it did work and I managed to get to the first village but the game froze and crashed. After trying to go back into the game it started doing as described again and taking a long time to load then just freezing with HUD on screen

Thank you, you did it right indeed.

I personally have a very limited knowledge on how to resolve these issues, but @Hound should have some inclination on what to do.

From my limited knowledge it all looks to be in working order the only suggest I could make is to be sure that your drivers are up to date.

Will check drivers asap but I think they are all good, will @Hound see this post or do I need to message ?

Using the @ tag he will be directly notified for each tag.

The WH team is on Czech time However, so I can tell how quickly he will respond.

There are also many other community members who know more then myself that will be able to assist at this point its just waiting (usually not very long) for someone with the know how to respond.

is this happening with the default settings or did you tweak the graphic settings?

So far I’ve tried the high and very high settings as I’m pretty sure my PC would handle them.
I’ve been able to get the game running twice but both times in the first village the game froze. One time while crouching and other entering a door.

Most times the game will load but freeze on black screen with full HUD

Yeah, the settings itself are not the problem, the game tends to freeze when you fiddle with the sliders (LOD distance in particular) so as of now it’s recommended not to change these If you did change them, delete the user_game file to reset the settings. If you didn’t / this doesn’t help, let us know so we can possibly figure out something else .
