Yeah I understand from the monetary point of view. And that’s the primary objective of investors anyway. It’s also become a trend now of patching games after release

Here’s an over all list of things I personally would feel would better the game. It’s mostly opinion but hopefully some will agree.

  • Player made sounds are too far from player.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve pulled an arrow from my quiver and thought there was someone behind or next to me, among other sounds like occasional footsteps on cracking twigs and the sort.

  • I’m sure it’s been addressed by many but leather and hunter’s gloves disable the lightly armored perk which is a shame.

  • Some of the armor/clothing descriptions do not match their physical appearance. For example I recall a black pair of hose labeled as “red” and unfortunately many cases similar to that.

  • While I understand the draw and intention for the combat system, it’s been labelled as clunky and over-complicated for some players. Perhaps in the future an option for a more casual setting to toggle between?

I say this because not everyone (including myself and some friends who’ve played) has an easy time fully grasping the combat system. I for one thought since I could not get the hang of it, would be more simple to perk into and focus on archery. Then there was that forced melee combat boss and I couldn’t for the life of me beat him. When he perfectly counters your counters, it’s frustrating and essentially ruins interest. (inb4 elitist darksouls-esque trolls saying ‘git gud’) While I can easily appreciate a take on realistic and historically accurate combat techniques, sometimes there’s a line to be drawn between realism and video games. Which I feel is normally really REALLY well done throughout the game (I.E. nighthawk potions, obviously impossible in reality yet still doesn’t break immersion or the flow of simulation), however it is a tad too much when it comes to the melee combat.

  • Some of the perks are a tad OverPowered in my opinion.

For example the human dustbin removes all care and need to worry about a well developed and built in needs/nourishment system. I unfortunately picked it not realizing it would turn it into another survival playthrough of skyrim with a survival mod, where feeding is more a menial task than another aspect to keep relevant track of. Same goes for other perks like (The name of it escapes me but it’s where you stand still and you do not lose hunger or energy). They remove some of the challenge. Now I can see why other players would prefer that as it’s one less thing to concern oneself and be annoyed with, but perhaps a difficulty adjustment to the game as a whole that alters the need for such perks?

  • Polearms becoming equipable and stored items/weapons.

It’s such a shame that a key weapon to the historical timeline is limited so. Especially if it’s been intended to be used, that a slow animation is relied on to pick it up. I’d love to be able to store them in my inventory. Maybe make them significantly heavier or only stow-able on the horse?

Edit:

  • A favorite system or a new tab in the inventory for sorting and organizing your gear. Less of a pain for managing your equipment and stuff you’ve looted.

Otherwise, I’ve nothing short of applause for the game. Aside from needing a software that limits CPU Core usage to prevent freezing and stuttering due to AI schedules, I’ve found it a masterpiece and is truly my opinion on what next gen gaming has to offer. Thank you.

You’re gonna have to wait for bannerlord for that I’m afraid buddy :joy:

Would be fun to have own band of brothers:

This story shall the good man teach his son;

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember’d;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition

we can start by recruting those 2 good for nothing friends of henry fristz and the other
those 2 whatever they go cause trouble

As a Troubadour, I just travel the land and go from bath house to bath house and screw wenches for free. Make love, not war! :heart_eyes:

that perk definitely rocks free bath, doctor and woman dam that henry is a lucky guy

And yet they only used 1 of the takes on the voice recording…

I’ve probably saved over 3k groschen with that perk.

yeah that would be amazing

:frowning: bannerlird will never come out

I think it’ll be between October of this year and march of next year. We’ll see.

this might be a tall orders, but i’d to see those wayfaring knights, mercenaries, and your soldier friends from skalitz being recruitable for attacks on enemy camps and such. we know once they get near the battlefield, they should have no problem with navigation, the only issue might arise from their traveling with henry in fast travel or over long distances on horse back. don’t know if there’s some kind of abtraction that could allow you to “deploy” them once you’re near enemy camps and such

I don’t even want to think about it. I was following the dev posts, but they were not satisfying my need for the game. They only made me think about it too much

What I wish was different:

The combat system is rather odd, not only are there many ways to win in a lame way, it seems the formulas for damage dealt scale so highly with strenght (or agi, depending on weapon) and not really good with weapon skill that you just need that stat to by above 10 and you can onehit everybody.

The game is short and the end bad and sudden, I know the reason for it, however it wasnt advertised on the steam page and I only learned the background when I started reading the forums a bit.

There are no game changing decisions, only minor variations the questgiver thanks you, and often he gets it wrong and gives you the wrong dialogue.

Hey, this gives me an idea, lets look up the store page again and check the features list:

Massive realistic open world | Yep, cant argue with that, certainly correct.
Non-linear story | Nope, just plain wrong, as mentioned above.
Challenging combat: Distance, stealth, or melee. | Nope, Archery is far too strong and can be used in melee, stealth doesnt work as (likely not intended, but who knows) everybody wakes up when you do a stealthkill/knockout no matter the skill and other factors, you can not kill more than one person stealthily unless you run away in between. Melee, like normal fighting, meh, combat system is just that, meh, just get some gear and you are god.
Character development: Improve your skills, earn new perks, and forge and upgrade your equipment. | What, I cna forge, I didnt know that. For the rest, yes, I mean it is a bloody rpg, getting new gear and leveling up is pretty much a given.
Dynamic world | What, no there isnt. how is the world dynamic? Oh wait, it goes on: Fight, steal, seduce, threaten, persuade, or bribe. | Really, that is the meaning of dynamic world, interesting, I mean 4 of them are just speech options, fighting and stealing doesnt make the world dynamic, neither does that fact that stealing in this game is rather stupid, too, like the rest of the crime system.

What I ment to say with that last rant was that I would have like the game to be advertised a bit differently. Like with some honesty.

Your frustrations are understandable and they probably would’ve implemented them had they been given another 6 months. Now we can only hope that they come through patches.

I love the game, but yeah deeper content would be amazing. Im a sand box whore, so i was thoroughly satisfied on that account. And the npcs mannerisms are decent

I wish the npcs would run for cover during rain as they showed in beta
