GTX 1080Ti (390.77 WHQL Driver), i7 7700k @4.6Ghz, 16GB 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM, SSD. 1440p Performance unacceptable. Framerate drops in the 30-40s. Immersion breaking NPC, Object, Textures pop in at max settings, brief load before conversations, Microstuttering

Right outside the Tavern in Skalitz I have 25-30fps when facing the town with my 1080ti build, on a 1080p resolution with high settings, this just seems… wrong. I don’t know how anyone else is getting stable 60 at high on their 1070s

@seagulldream

Haha bro, this is exactly what I was talking about earlier in this thread. the performance in front of the tavern and especially inside the opposite Grocers is just laughable :smiley: Plus to make matters worse, the grocers shop has some major flashing lighting bug going on, which leads me to believe that is what is causing the performance drop in that area. IGN, PCGamer and Jokerproductions have all pointed out the lighting/shadowing bugs

In fact I had the game on an OCZ Agility before which only has a few Origin and Steam games on it. Now it is on my Samsung 850 Evo. SSD is not the issue here as all KCD PC Gameplay videos I have watched have displayed bad pop ins and brief loads.

The issue with the Tavern and Grocer in Skalitz is the same as the one with the Monastery courtyard and I believe it has been reported already, the lights inside will reload constantly it seems to be a broken script.

And it is very possible that this bug is affecting stability in the entire town square isn’t it? Because the moment you turn to face the grocers, you already see the frames starting to dip. When you get inside, it dips even further

Not sure how CryEngine runs the render/load path, if it’s anything like Horizon Zero Dawn then yes the issue would be with the rendering since the engine will render the viewable area when demanded, try standing there for 5-10 minutes staring at the grocers if it continues acting in the same manner then yes it is a render issue, I already know the light-pop in issue at the monastery is a reload issue so this is most definitely the same, unless the grocers has a basement where he is holding 30 characters all chained up.

However I cant really say I’ve had the same Graphics issues as everyone else, the only pop-in issue that I had was the grass but that can be changed via console/script and grass animation not playing beyond a certain distance which can be solved in the same manner.

Starting the game now. Will take the screenshots to show you the performance and also the most annoying pop ins. Also since you are using 1080Ti SLI, have you increased the Object, NPC, Foliage draw distance to greater limits using console commands?

I havent tested most of them, but the majority are on lockdown as far as I’ve seen myself and heard from others, don’t want to actually bother doing a testrun myself on the draw distance etc. as it would be easier to change it in the scripted paths, currently working on a Alchemy expansion as the graphics for me are a secondary concern as most people are having issues with them so upping them beyond what me and a extremely small community of overkill pc owners have would be generally useless.

@AliiusCrix
Ok so here is the Skalitz grocers performance problem. I am playing at 1440p, “Shadow Quality”, “Shaders Quality” and “Postprocess Quality” at HIGH, everything else at Ultra High, all draw distance sliders maxed out and Motion Blur disabled. Check the framerate on the different pics as i approach the grocers and from different locations:

All I read is whiney kid not happy that the game doesn’t look like real lifeon his PC.

I have more or less the same set-up as you but with a GTX980, yes some textures and objects don’t load I just laugh at it. It’s not game breaking nor is it immersion disrupting.

Buy better parts for your PC or just play games for what they are. Games.

@Cristari
GTX 980… With your card, I would not complain at all mate. In fact you are lucky you can even run the game decently and you probably do not even notice frame drops and pop in since your standards have to be kept low anyway.

This thread applies mostly to people with 1080 and 1080 Ti, cards which cost considerably more than your 980. If someone spends that much, they have the right to voice their concerns.

You did not buy me my rig or my Duke copy of the game so I don’t think you should be telling me what to do.

Thank you :wink:

^ Trying to be elitist dick and winning +1

Your actually sounding like a complete arse.

So owning a 1080 Ti and expecting good performance is being an elitist now? :grin:

YOU entered this thread and downplayed the issues we are having, trying to tell me how I should enjoy the game. Please go elsewhere

Replying like a twat is.

My 980 handels the game fine I have everything on High and Object loading in the middle with Blur on. From time to time I will get a scenario where it takes a little time to load things up and in some instances not load at all. I’m not complaining I would like to buy a better GFX card, I could easily do that but I don’t see the point. My card handles all the games atm very well.

What’s your issue? YHou spent all your months wages on a GFX card and want every game running on it to POP better. Seriously get a life.

Please go away troll. Lol all my months wages? Hardly! I bought a GTX 1080 Ti in December 2017, Upgrading my 980 Ti and have been upgrading to new Tis the moment third party cards land. Everytime I buy a card, I only have to pay a fraction of the cost as I always upgrade.

What is my issue? Lol the cheek :grin: I should be the one asking you what YOUR issue is. You came into this thread only to tell me that “All I read is whiney kid not happy that the game doesn’t look like real lifeon his PC. It’s not game breaking nor is it immersion disrupting. Buy better parts for your PC or just play games for what they are. Games.”

I am sorry but if you come into threads and make “Twat” statements, you shall only get “Twat” replies :slight_smile:

Once again, you didn’t buy me my PC or my copy of the game and you do not get to decide whether something should not be immersion breaking for me or other people who feel the same and you cannot tell people how they should enjoy a game so your intrusion and comments are unnecessary and irrelevant to this thread.

Surely reading through your reply you must realise your not going to get any sort of response from Warhorse Studios on this so complaining makes little to no sense.

Who is whiney?

If your allowed to come into this thread and complain about how poor you think the game is I have as much right to call you out on it. So with my last post in this thread I shall call it like I see it.

Whiney little kids crying because they are not getting 60+FPS all the time and that the game takes AAAAAGGGGGGEEEEESSSSS to load textures.

Waaaa!! Waaaa! Waa!!!

:laughing::grin::joy::sweat_smile:

I have to stay on the scorpgul side. If you decide to buy this gpu (or this computer), you expect to get what you pay for … no compromises. MINIMUM 1080p and all on Ultra 60 fps + - which is not met. And I’m not even trying to think about 4K. Currently, there are not much better GPUs except two TITANs that have higher TFLPS and something tells me it would be the same song. And fix me if I’m wrong, but the game was supposed to come out before the 1080 TI was on sale or even announced. So the best card was gtx 1080. So like ultra = wait and play it for 3 to 5 years with your next computer? …noo…c’mon! That is only excuse! Perhaps someone from Warhorse might be able to comment on whether this is being solved or will be solved or it is final…I believe they will not leave it that way.

I personally have I7 4770K, TITAN X (900series), 16GB RAM, SSD and I’m afraid to buy the game yet. I’m still waiting for the warhorse to do something, or I’ll be forced to wait for the Ampere series.

Titans are worse for the game, tested them already and got lower FPS because of the lower clock speeds.

Same here (on a 1070 albeit, but high settings, so kinda the same situation). It sort of evolved for me; at first it never happened, and then it slowly became longer and longer, and it has now reached the 1.5 mins mark. I can’t comprehend why though, I haven’t made a single change…
