I’m glad to see more interest in this. It seems all of us advocates are on the same page. Originally I started this topic hoping to learn more about homosexuality in this time period and location. I’ve heard a few post on that topic mostly contradictory, but it seems people are more interested in homosexuality in gaming as a whole. Where this fits in is no different really than anything else that creates a gaming universe. It can be part of the world and it can be part of a character’s life as it is a part of peoples lives in life. None of us want this to be the all important thing about kingdom come deliverance, but we all believe that it can be one of those things that enriches the experience. There’s stories and avenues that can be traveled that many games have steered away from stories that aren’t the same and have been told over and over again for centuries. I present the newest Godzilla movie. That movie had good effects, but was terrible. Every moment had been done before every minute was a cliche. Breaking these molds is a good thing. You can have a gay hero (there has been one before. In Enchanted Arms…did anyone notice?)

Well, idk if your character can have sex in the game (i don’t really care) and due to the stigma around homosexuality at the time i doubt any gay or lesbian person would be like “hey i’m a homosexual come burn me at the stake” just saying as a gay guy if i lived during that period i would try to keep it as best a secret i could to avoid getting killed.
a modern analogy would be like including a guy with something like scat fetish in a modern rpg. comparatively, homosexuality in medieval times is likely far more frowned upon, and sure you could pull it off after much deliberation and design revisions(if you’re going to preserve serious theme), but is it worth it? not really.
as with medieval times, modern age holds many other interesting things than can be explored than what one does in their bedroom. honestly, that just doesn’t interest me very much.
bioware makes great gay sex and pillow talk simulators, so no need to compete with them. kcd has much more interesting content

Monks could have homosexual intercourse with each others within the monastery or be approached by the character with the aim of initiating the homosexual intercourse. Then there is of course the catholic priests and children thing, but I suppose that the target audience for that kind of gameplay would be very limited[/sarcasm]

right if there is one thing this game does not need its gay people and lesbians , its irrelevant for starters .
second . there would be no point what so ever because gays were burnt or castrated as mentioned before so the fact that you could now somehow bum some bloke like its nothing in this game would make the game stupid and unrealistic .
regardless of your views heterosexuality will always be in games as the primary sexuality of your sexual encounters in-game because thats … “normal” . i mean that in the nicest way possible but lets be honest here we were designed to fuck the opposite sex to breed and create more people thats the way of life and you cant change that .

But I agree that there is no meaningful place for homosexuality in a realistic game taking place in 15th century Bohemia. Hey, you know what, let’s meet on the Prague Pride and talk about it over a glass of beer!
designed and programmed as basically personification metaphors. but his point should be obvious. homosexuality is not normal in the cultural and social sense because of its rarity. it may be biologically normal or evolutionarily natural as it possibly serves some type of function in population control.

im from the UK as humans we are designed to mate with the opposite sex and make more humans …you cant really dispute that can you as the whole point of sex is to breed and you cant breed with another male .
thats not to say people should be burned for being gay dont get me wrong .
if they add it then at least have it so if you get caught you get castrated burnt then chopped up … that way its realistic to the time period
If you’ve read the side of the people for homosexuality you’d realize that we all only want it portrayed realistically. To do it any other way would be pointless. (No animosity intended) Also if you believe in evolution there may come a point to where there are no longer two genders, but multiple or one. We’ve seen it happen in nature. I don’t believe homosexuality is a form of natural population control. Also homosexuality is on the rise because we have ways to now have genetic offspring without having intercourse with the opposing gender.

there’s an easier way called adoption. less expensive.
There is, and when I marry I will be adopting, however adoption isn’t always desired for two reasons. 1. Some places will not allow a gay couple to adopt 2. homosexuals can still desire a genetic lineage like all people throughout history.
regardless of your feelings towards homosexuality it should be left out of games .
my personal reason would be because if a child see’s man laying with man or woman and woman he may be "encouraged " to be gay . Nothing wrong with a child being gay and they certainly shouldn’t be bullied about it HOWEVER children should not be encouraged to go that way either .

I don’t believe that being gay has anything at all to do with education or experiences. Children/People won’t become homosexual because they know that homosexuality exists. Forgive me, but it sounds like you fear that gays might influence our children to choose the “wrong” sexual preference.
However sexual preference is nothing you can choose from, either you’re straight or homosexual. A straight person can’t be forced to become gay/lesbian and the other way 'round.

On the other side, I think homosexuality shouldn’t be included in the game, unless in some plot-relevant way. A regular homosexual person in that time just wouldn’t show his/her feelings, for reasons mentioned above. There could be a quest about a gay couple in trouble and the player decides to help them or not.
I’m not saying it can’t be included, but it’s the devs decision, as it would require more work and time to code the consequences (being hunted down and thrown in a dungeon), for a (probably) minority of the players.
Well since this is a game from the Czech lands, let me steer your attention towards the scientific research of one Kurt Freund, a Czech sexuologist whose research led to conclusion that sexual orientation is a trait that may not be in any way changed (neither learned/got) during life and to a string of decriminalizations of homosexual intercourses in the countries East of the Iron Curtain.
I don’t know where you came to the idea that children can be encouraged towards homosexuality. If you are yourself uncertain, I suggest going through the penile plethysmograph just to make sure.

Alright the first sexual act I saw was a man and a women…bleh…I was about 4 and that didn’t incline me to be heterosexual. So maybe if I saw two men together I would be. Hallelujah! Thank you god for letting me see those two men getting it on now I’m cured of my homosexuality! That’s simple foolishness george.
