look , i respect everyone’s right to an opinion its one of them subjects where you’re either all for it or totally against it , personally yes i am out right against it however i respect everyone as people regardless of their sexuality.
which is another reason it should be left out of the gaming world .
you could also argue your point about being born fancying the same sex by looking at people having sexual relations with their cousin’s . if you go back to the Romans marrying your cousin was quite normal no one had a problem with it but these days its taught as being wrong (still very legal however ) and thats produced a society where having such relations with a family member just dont happen because you feel no attraction to your cousin , but the romans clearly did .
so my point is that i think yes if you plant a seed in a childs head it will grow and become part of them so if you plant the seed of being gay in a childs head i think yes they would be more inclined to "experiment " with the same sex

also there are many cases where middle aged people suddenly decide to have a same sex relationship that 10 year ago that would have NEVER considered

I’m glad that you’re thinking things more clearly than most “all against” or “all for” people.You’re right that planting seeds in the head of the young can influence their directions. However that’s with everything. Do you paint the walls blue or pink. Give the kids dolls or trucks. Watch sponge bob or captain planet. Watch a cartoon about a mermaid marrying a prince or a prince marring a woodsman. All influence children. However the majority of us far before even puberty hits or any sort of “homosexual” influence comes into play at all we know who we are in this respect. I fancied boys even before I realized I fancied boys. My mind didn’t think like that back then, but looking back it’s obvious. I was always upset in school that growing up I was called gay, I didn’t even know what that meant until I was about 13. So I’m very much inclined to believe that there’s no helping it if you’re gay straight, bi-sexual, or anything in between. As for people deciding to have same sex relationships that they wouldn’t before. The answer to that is simple. It’s not something that they need to live in “as much” fear in any more, and that is a good thing. Homosexuals are still persecuted, and places like the CDC have tried to minimize us (in the USA) by saying that homosexuals are less than 2% of the population. I know that I haven’t been asked by the CDC if I was gay, and if they did bother to ask me I would probably say no. Not because I’m not gay and proud of it, but that I would be banned from donating blood and plasma or anything another human might need to live. I wish that weren’t so, but if hiding that I’m gay from government organizations might help to save another person’s life then I’m glad to do so. So out of whoever they polled I’m sure many were thinking the same thing. Once we’ve rid ourselves of government discrimination and social discrimination and begin including our fellow humans into media (like heterosexuals have had a monopoly on for millennia) then more people will come out openly as homosexuals. This might have a small impact on new homosexuals though because less of us will feel obligated to marry women meaning fewer homosexual children unless they continue their genetic lineage. It’s a funny dichotomy yes. By accepting homosexuals it’s possible that you could eliminate us without throwing a stone.

in a way we are all born slightly gay because up until what like year 3 boys hate girls and girls hate boys , however after such an age that all goes and most people start to fancy the opposite sex , id agree that yes some gays are just born , without sounding dickish id go as far as saying that being gay could well be a mutation in your hormones much like mutations in some people that are born with both a vagina and a very very small penis just above (sounds crazy buts its a real condition ) , where in most people youre programmed to fancy the opposite sex it may have gone wrong for some people and they were programmed to fancy the same sex . however i think its possible too turn someone gay and even make them straight , so i think to plant a seed that its “correct” to be gay is wrong and we should teach our kids that man should lay with woman .
(sorry if you find the way i worded that last part slightly offensive but i cant figure another way of putting it )

the continuation of humanity relies on straight sex being the more dominant . yes we can have test tube babies but is that really the direction we want to be heading ?

Alright. I know where you’re coming from (likely christian). Though you could plant that seed teach all children instantaneously the being homosexual is a completely valid life style choice. The number that would turn gay would be the exact same as it is now. The number of people that would be willing to experiment would increase. There would be more pan-romantics possibly (that is people willing to have an intimate same sex or opposite sex relationship not necessarily involving sexual activity) However as far as sexuality is concerned. Men who would be attracted to women are still attracted to women and will probably get 12 women pregnant in their life time and gay men will still be gay and possibly fewer married to females. That’s simply the fact of it. Sexuality isn’t something that is changed. It’s hard coded before you are born. You have a higher chance of receiving that coding if you father or mother happens to be a homosexual, but once it’s there it can only be suppressed. (much like I attempted to do for 20 years of life) Is it not better to tell people you’ll love and accept them. There’s no fear of humanity ceasing to be if everyone turned gay. We’d simply have different customs for procreation. Because gay or straight the majority of us desire offspring.

Such ignorant people always fascinated me. Every scientific research ended up with conclusion that it’s not possible to change sexual orientation. There is no existing proof that it can be changed, and there were a lot of lunatics that tried really hard. And you just completely ignore all evidence and all knowledge of people who studied it for years and make your own “opinion” based on what exactly? Could you please turn yourself to a gay just for a few minutes? You should prove what you are saying, because you contradict scientific findings. I guarantee you Nobel prize for that…

it’s like the distinction between psychopath and sociopath. one is biological, the other has a social/environmental cause. some people are born gay, some are gay for pay, some are bisexual and choose to go one way. and some people just choose to be gay because it’s popular or cool.

a lot of that scientific research is outdated. also, a common factor in bisexuality and homosexuality, especially of deviant nature, comes from childhood sexual abuse. so clearly environmental causes are not to be discounted

You can pretend to be gay because it’s cool, but in fact you can not change who you are attracted to, it’s complete bullshit.

So you know about any up to date research that concludes that it can be changed? I’d love to see that.

That’s also common factor of heterosexuality of “deviant nature”. It has nothing to do with actual hetero/homo orientation. If there are any envieromental causes that might affect it, there is not known way how to do it intentionally and there are some that were completely ruled out based on scientific research (like living with homosexual parents…).

Also we can add that child abuse comes, normally, from a trusted family member. Heterosexual or homosexual. It’s simply deviant people. That child might be less inclined to trust the gender who abused them and more/less inclined towards the sexual act that is performed, however either way that has no “proven” relation to if that person was homo/hetero. Currently all we have is anecdotal evidence . It could simply be that homosexual male children are easier to take advantage of much like female children. This might be picked up upon by perverts. However this is all speculation and shouldn’t be taken as fact.

also while we are here … all the science you mentioned is only theories from experiments , there is no conclusive evidence that something in your genes/DNA makes you gay

You’re correct. There’s nothing “conclusive” that shows a person is born gay. There have been shots at it, but it’s been known to miss the mark. There have also been theories as to how a person become gay. Such as an experiment done with mice where they would introduce the smell of cherry blossoms and then shock them. Their children will then fear the smell of cherry blossoms. That goes for a lot of things we get from our parents. Including, possibly and likely, sexuality. Though like you and your siblings may not all be born with the same physical and personality traits, you can take different traits from different parents. Which is why it’s theorized if you have two homosexual parents (or three these days) then you’ll have a higher chance of having a homosexual child. Though I theorize that if you have a heterosexual mother and homosexual father you’d have a higher chance of having a gay son, but that’s just me.

im not religious what so ever .
i think yes it needs to be taught in schools but first children should be shown the “correct” manor of having a sexual relationship with someone . which is for man and woman to breed …after all thats the whole point of love like any other animal we are programmed to find a breeding partner and breed its that simple .
so when you look at gay people it throws every bit of natures course away because there mating partner is unable to carry their child .
then we should teach children that yes some people are different and have an attraction to the same sex which they cant help so they should be treated like anyone else HOWEVER straight relationships is the sexuality that we should be engaged in

Ahh well there comes a point of view difference. Nature doesn’t demand we mate for procreation. It equips us the option and it says “do what you will to be happy” That’s why you find homosexual animals in nature naturally. (I suggest this book on philosophy called Atlas Shrugged)

Also note I didn’t state you’re religious, but likely a Christian. That doesn’t require you to be religious it just happens to come with a commonly understood worldview, so by knowing that factor a person has a better understanding of how you’re thinking.

this is where we disagree yes because to me breeding is the single most important factor to sustaining life . So with that said i feel that the spread of homosexuality is a direct threat to life its self , because whether you agree with my overall outlook or not you cannot argue that if everyone was gay humanity would not last for more than the generations already on earth .
i share no world view with Christians i find religion and religious peoples outlook on life absurd . this is the only real factor where i would agree with religion however they hold such a view because a book told them to think that way where as I hold such a view through my own personal understanding and my moral beliefs . many would agree with my point of view and many would disagree , i think of neither groups of people any differently

There’s actually a movie about such a world where everyone is gay. Quite interesting. Life will survive women will still have babies. Men will raise sons and daughters. I don’t know how you can’t see that, however we’ve spent enough time on this. I suppose we can agree to disagree, but it’s been a good chat mate.

I must confess that I, too, labelled your PoV typically religious. “Designed” implies there’s a “designer”.

To be fair, given how we’re products of an emergent system, we should not expect any hard and fast rules. Pointing at a particular piece of DNA and declaratively stating conclusions from its existence is just silly.

Sexuality is analogue, not digital. Nobody spends their entire life in a set position and some fall further afield from the standard deviation than others.

Who cares?

This mindless, manufactured, drama around sexuality, (something which is core to every living creature on the planet), is a uniquely human dysfunction. A dysfunction which is almost always rooted in religion.

So we can be forgiven for assuming that, if you have no substantive reasoning behind your stance on sexuality, you are religious or you have adopted religion’s quirky view on moral standards as they apply to bonking.

Speaking as someone who actually enjoys intercourse I’d like to invite all those prudes who are so concerned about it to kindly take a long stroll off a short pier into shark infested waters.

Personally, I prefer not to have to fumble through sex, (of any form), in RPG games primarily because it’s almost always more about titillation than anything else. If it furthers the story or has entertaining/meaningful consequences I may let it slide. This is rarely the case, though.
