I’m afraid you can’t expect majority of homosuxual react same way.

What’s the harm in adding more choices instead of limiting them?
This is an RPG after all, there are gay choices available on Skyrim, Fable, Bioware RPGs, even those made by Japanese companies, such as Dragon’s Dogma, Street Fighter and Persona 4 (and other JRPGs - feel free to add them!).
Well general harm of adding choices is more work for developers, but that question is irrelevant without context. Tell me what choice exatly you mean and then I can react react to it.
None of these tried to be historically accurate.
Here is finally a argument I can agree with.
Homosexuality has always existed. but I doubt there will be many “couples” The poor men would get married to a woman, as they needed sons to carry on the bloodline/work/farm ect.
Rich and powerfull might have leasions with other men, and be protacted because of their wealth and power.
It’s a little late for this period But Charles I of England was probebly gay, and even “theories” about who his lovers would be. The court would know this. but him beeing an absolute ruler could do what he wanted. Same would go for rules in the Medieval period.
Agree with Matthew 1J…this is supposed to be a historically based rpg…whereas the others mentioned above…Skyrim,Fable etc. are not…
Don’t see anything wrong with the dog being in game as a companion…Dogs often were such and not a stretch to have a trained hunter/fowler etc. as the main character’s dog(maybe one he has had from a puppy or rescued etc.)…and even a place for a woman character…albeit with limited impact in terms of their overall role in the game…i.e not like Brienne of Tarth who some have been citing as if she were a real historical person.
As far as homosexuality goes…don’t see any reason for it to be included in the game…but if it is then it should have dire consequences…as in these times sodomy was seen as a great sin and crime…
But once again it’s a case of people trying to paste modern values on a historical subject where they just don’t fit!
Guess by having no super warrior woman or Loras Tyrell wannabe(as in the series) then the devs are actively showing their bigotry etc?as are those of us who have no issue with such things in the right setting…sci fi,fantasy or contemporary etc. but who have backed this game based on the fact that it’s historically orientated and not chain bikinis,flying horses and such.
The usual strategy of those who want but can’t get their own way is to ignore the facts and try and build a case based on what if’s rather than fact!
And no…I am sure most of us here and the devs are not anti-equality nor homophobic(have had/have gay/lesbian and bisexual friends myself)…we’re just after getting what we pledged to support!

I think you can see they are trying to be as accurate as possible (if you read blog or at least watched videoupdates) so I’m afraid you are going off topic. I really would like to know what choice exactly you have on your mind.

Actually Fable and Skyrim’s approach are somewhere between medieval and Bioware RPGs. It’s the happy middle ground.
I agree with this post. In all honesty I wouldn’t have backed the game if relationship/sex was going to be a huge focus. Especially homosexuality.
I backed the game based on what it is. And I refused to play mass effect and skyrim games.
Nobody said that it’s going to be a focus at all, just minor stuff. You won’t notice it unless you’re looking for it…
What is inaccurate? There were no women or dogs or what?

Dog quests will be silly, if you’re going to be accurate. But I have two dogs myself so I.don’t mind those…

Homosexuality in this period was highly frowned upon, and went against the laws of God and man alike. You’re attempting to inject modern issues into the medieval time period which I think is just wrong. Keep the game historical and don’t make an issue out of things just for the sake of pleasing the outspoken and politically driven people. We don’t need this to turn into Bioware where every fetish under the sun is catered to at the cost of historical accuracy. Homosexuals in this period would either be burned to death, sent to a monastery, or castrated, not focused upon simply to please “civil rights” zealots. If there is a gay NPC, what of it? Why must an issue be made of him? He would not in a million years confess to being gay, and sure wouldn’t let himself be caught by others in such acts. We would likely never know.

Well if there’s a gay NPC, it would be nice to be able to interact with them. It doesn’t take into the story so no need to get all pissy here.
As I have said, minor stuff, won’t be in your face unless.you’re actively looking for it.
And yet some people here are pissed with that - a minor breadcrumb to a full meal. Saying it’s against historical accuracy, God etc, whatever justifies your hate I guess…I just got weary after a while…
you’re not a time traveler. when it comes to gays, you’ll only really have two choices, mind your own business, or get them in trouble.
the first might get you thanks from the gay, but it won’t help your reputation, since no one knows other than you, and also because reputation simulates other people’s view of you. why would they like you more if you “helped” the gay?
the second option actually leads to better reputation, since you helped the church catch a sinner.
this is the kind of nonsense that discussions like this ultimately degenerate into. if you don’t support putting gays in the game, then you obviously hate gays.
devs probably should close this topic now before it gets even worse.
