So far the only way i have found out how to leave is by picking a lock in the guardhouse and stealing armor and leaving by the front gate. But my game is super messed up, there is always like 4 guard glitched in that room and when i wait for them to leave sometimes, they return within seconds. Also locking picking is the hardest thing i have ever had to do in a game. I have played 100s of games and never had anything this hard. I am playing on PS4. This game looks so fun but i cant leave this prison. Any help would be great.
I jumped a bridge and ran as fast as I could, I could not get the armor :’(
someone told me that the guards will chase you forever if you do that.
I jumped out too, gaurds chased me but I convinced him to let me go and he told me to push him away so that he has something to say as to how I got away. There are many ways to get out from what I understand

Yes, they chased me twice, but it was because I saw some beautiful houses on my way, the third time I only ran and it worked

you can also get out from the bridge (under the chain, to not get hurt when falling down) and then try to sneak your way out so the guards dont even see you
There are two ways I found. 1. You can lock pick the chest in the gate house to get the armor. I think the lock in there is either easy or very easy. Take your time when lock picking. It’s hard to do at first, but you’ll eventually get the coordination down. I actually used a saver schnapps right at that box so I could practice. I only had 1 pick.
- You can always knock out a guard and steal his armor.
then you lose some nice starting gear so its not the preffered way to do that
Mine had me getting chased by guards And once I escaped it ended up re-loading my game and told me I failed an objective (not wearing stolen armor to sneak out.) the freedom of choice is flawed pretty bad right now
Either way you’ll have to steal. Either by stealing from a chest or from a knocked out guard.

how do you knock out a guard?
you really can get out by just jumping of a bridge and running away. you may get blocked if you keep on the road but there is an option to get away (if you pass the stat checks or have enough money)

Sneak behind him and press L2 if your playing on PS4. Make sure no one sees you.
i watched that video but it doesnt help when all the guards are glitch in the guardhouse right next to the chest i am trying to pick.
then go to the other tower, get some money from the lady of the castle on top of what you find there… or just load an older save. you are at the very beginning still, it wont be much lost time
