I am in shock that this game was released

I started to play KC:D yesterday. Today, i have enough.
A) FPS. I got some random numbers between 20-70. I have no clue what is going on, i usually play other games like for example witcher 3 in 60fps, very high details, full hd. this is a joke, seriously.
B) Boxes. After 2,5h i gave up. I couldn’t open even one single box. I don’t know it is some kind of bug, but it is impossible to open them. i’ve tried with mouse, keyoboard any xbox controller. i am quite old gamer, minigames are not an issue for me, but this is just sick.
C) In the first quest RUN, i have to find a horse (optional) . Well done, i read all the uncle google advices where is that horse… well, in my game this horse simply dissapeared. Empty space, simple as that.

I’ve barely finished prologue, and i can see already that this game is simply unplayable. I could say KC:D is at the moment somewhere between alpha-beta stage, i am in shock that this game was released.
Wondering what to do now - give it 0/10 for being unplayable, or wait months before it will be fixed enough to be worth playing.
But one thing is a mystery for me - how for a god sake this game got such a high reviews ? HOW ?..

Ladies and Gentlemen: Here we have another example of a Player, complaining about game mechanics before learning to play the game.

As for FPS: Noone can help you without you posting the specs of your system. Quite sure, theres a Bottleneck somewhere!

As for Boxes: You are a blacksmiths son. Do you think he ever picked a lock in his whole life? No? Well thats why you are simply BAD at it in the beginning. After getting some training it becomes quite easy.

As for Horse: You even read it’s optional. So you either just run down the hill, jump on ANY horse (There are quite few standing around) and start gallopping or you don’t bother with Horses at al and just run for your life! Again we can’t help you finding a Horse if you don’t tell as where you are searching.

The game has its issues but it’s playable.

A lot of people are experiencing performance issue even on higher rigs, I think this has to with optimization of game. The game only detects half my available video memory and doesn’t even use half of my available system memory.

Relax, walk away for a little while and come back in a few patches.

I will admit, i hate the prologue. The first day of playing i was worried it wasnt the game i thought i was getting. During the prologue its very “on rails” game play. After that you are released to do whatever you want and the game really takes off.

You will not be good at anything in the beginning, even running away from these guys is rough. But its an incredible game if you give it a chance.

I think is a bad idea to attack a game that you could potentially like if you give it at least a chance to get past the prologue.

The game starts really hard, especially when you don’t know how to play but, IMHO, it gets a little too easy too quickly. Once your strength is sitting around 15 and your combat skills around 10, you can just stride into a camp of enemies and butcher them.

I wouldn’t mind a hardcore setting that kinda removes the huge power gain curve.

The game isn’t hard. It’s smart. Some situations in game need use of little grey cells.

It’s not unplayable for me, but it sure is close to it. I can’t pass through some doorways. There’s crashes. The fps dips into the 20s in cities even on medium. I still like the game but op is not wrong.

I will never understand how “FPS dipping into the 20s” can make a game “next to unplayable”…

The bugs do, the fps doesn’t but it certainly is immersion killing. It all adds up to an experience where only half of your mind is thinking about the game. The other half is constantly concerned about the game stability.

I also cant understand that. If the game was step step lag, then i would understand. When ultima online came out all i had was 36k modem connection. Took me 30 minutes to cross town, but i did so with nearly the same enthusiasm as making my first move on a new woman

Yes and once you learn how to play the game becomes unplayable again because is too easy.

Beeing easy doesn’t make a game unplayable. Just maybe a bit boring. But once again, this game was never sold as an action game. If you can’t get Satisfaction by just enjoying the Environment, occaisonally fighting a guy or two, then it maybe is the wrong game for you. Or you just completed it. In this case, either start a different playthrough, try to rp more (makes the game way harder) or just be patient and wait for mods and DLCs.
