I hate archery!

omg its the worst thing in this game

now dont get me wrong i am so far really enjoying a lot of the game but OMG!!! archery is the worst thing ever
you need to at least give us so way to know were the arrow is going the amount of times i have missed someone by an inch is very silly they need to improve this a.s.a.p as a vast amount of people will want to use a bow and this system is garbage

I read feedback and left response so read my response before you reply please

Don’t forget the 13 Euro joker!

The bow is incredibly powerful so the hard aiming is the drawback there. And your character will get better at shooting as you level up the relevant skills.

After i have completed the download i can tell you maybe a solution for archery
But first i need to check the file structure! First Mod?!

It is easier from slightly further out. It gets easier with (Henry’s) practice (and your own to a degree).
Heavier bows within reason make this easier, but more than you can handle reduce your ability to draw effectively and heavier bows are less steady take longer to draw and tire you faster.

Arrow selection also matters.

At the beginning the bow is little use - great for hares, indifferent against lightly equipped bandits, or large game and useless against harness. Later the bow becomes extremely powerful. (If anything too much).

There were arrow trails.
But #Realism happened.

Optionally you could do some traditional archery and learn how do some instincive shooting.

You can use a real bow and loose an arrow into the center of your computer screen. Then you have a cheater crosshair to always hit the enemy.

It’ll take time, patience, and skill from both you and Henry. The more you work at it, the easier it’ll become. After a while, it’ll be second nature for you.

and aim for the chest and not the head

At least you will get the “Sense of pride and accomplishment” if you train your Henry to a point where you can hit moving target at a longer distance. :grinning:

Guys… Gitgud  bows are horrendously overpowered as they can one shot any opponent without fully enclosed helmet and later on I was able to hit 80 percent of shots on 5-20m - just takes training.

Also making marker on the screen does not really work, as aiming point moves as Henry moves the bow

Honestly, I suck ass at archery in this game. It took me 5 arrows to hit a damn hare. I may just spend some free time at the archery range in Rattay to boost my archery skills.

5? Man you are good… When I started I wasted like 30 for my first hit xD

That’s realistic for an untrained person, i know from experience. Rabbits are not easy to hit, even from close distances.

It’s also realistic for a trained person  Rabbits/Hares are a hit/miss thing IRL.

You mean you can’t head shot a bunny with your 1st shot when you pick up a bow?

I think archery was made hard on purpose for balancing reasons. Once you can handle your bow to perfection the game becomes quite a bit easier.

I think it was made hard on purpose because it is hard in real life, if anyone has tried archery, they would know this.

I just took some black tape, that is easy to peal off. Cut them into tiny strips and put a plus mark aim reticule right on the middle of my T.V. so I can see where I’m aiming. It’s thin enough that I can always leave it on while I’m playing and doesn’t really bother me that much.

I also notice that it’s best to shoot the arrow as soon as you draw it back. If you hold it back you can’t worth a sh-. Just aim, Draw back, and relase. Don’t hold and aim. Of which technically is how you are suppose to use a bow, you’re not suppose to hold an aim like to do in movies or other games.
