No, you “sell” them 100k worth of stuff for the few coins they have, then next week they will have 100k, once they have sold their inventory.
their gold increases as you sell them stuff and they sell that though, so they shouldn’t stay at 1k forever…all traders gold increase if you sell to them and wait. The cook in Rattay now has like almost 1k when I go to sell to her and when I first sold to her she had like 20g lol
Yep, was doing this hunting north of the in Inn in the Glade, the inkeeper would hold a tidy 10K+ pretty much each time I visit (every few days maybe). I would head just north and hunt boar, cook it and sell to him. Silly though because as others mentioned, once you buy the horse and get to a certain level of gear, there’s not much you can do with all the money…
I’d love to see a screenshot, because I’ve routinely sold enough stuff to get all 1K of gold from the Miller, but they’ve never had more than 1K on them no matter how much stuff they’ve resold.
I have, however, seen OTHER merchants have a ton of cash a day or two after I dumped stuff onto them. I just assumed it didn’t happen with Millers.
If it does happen with you, then I’ll just assume it’s one of those inconsistent things they need to fix, like the frequency of Fast Travel Encounters. I’ve had dozens of those, my buddy has had zero.
You don’t sell “enough” you sell MORE. You give him extra items. He then sells them. Next time you see him he has coin.
What “enough” are you replying to? I see six of them and none of them are applicable to what you’re saying in light of the “no matter how much I sell him he never has more than 1K of gold” that some of us are experiencing.
The 1k limit could be a bug, it could also be platform specific.
As for the random encounters, they aren’t as random as people think. They spawn in specific locations, and if you’re not fast traveling along the roads where they are, you’ll never see one.
Video of someone using the method I mentioned.
I’ve been talking to a few friends since this was posted and I do believe it’s a bug. I have two friends who have NEVER seen more than 1K gold on a fence. I’ve sold tens of thousands of groshen worth to Fences and have never seen more than 1K gold. I have, however, seen Innkeepers with 20 grand on them. So yeah, I think it’s a bug.
Regarding Random Encounters, in the stories I’ve heard, including from friends, we’re talking dozens of hours of gaming with many, many Fast Travel trips through forest, specifically making sure to hit hot spots (like south of Skalitz and west of Rattay and so forth). A grand total of 0 Fast Travel Encounters. I actually watched a buddy Fast Travel around the map for five in-day games just to test it.
So yeah, I think both of these are bugs.
WH definitely knows about the Fast Encounter bug, do we know if the Fence Gold bug is known? Both of these bugs definitely impact gameplay.
I know they’re aware of the fast travel issues, but this is the first I have seen anyone mention millers only having 1k regardless of how much loot you give them.
yea. I’m the Talmberg Huntsman and now my quests are up so I just hunt deer and boar and sell it to the cook in Talmberg, the Innkeeper in Talmberg, if I wanna take a little ride I’ll go to the Inn on the Glade. Other then that I bought the room at the Inn in Talmberg so when I hunt I can drop my meat off in that chest, fast travel to the Rattay Mill, unload it and make some sales down there…I’m basically a wizard/merchant
It’s randomized as I’ve seen this posted on GameFAQs and the amount others have gotten from stealing from the chest was lower.
This is not the case, you just need to give them tons of stuff to sell. It’ll improve their wealth to trade with in a few in-game days. Easiest way I saw to do it is sell them something I want to keep but has a stolen tag on it(usually something expensive) then go back into the menu and barter for it outright with other goods so they get a bunch of good but no Groschen. They’ll sell that stuff and later on they’ll have more Groschen.
Yep. If you constantly sell enough stuff to get all the gold from vendors you give then a few days to a week in game and they’ll have had enough time to sell all your stuff and get money for it…Miller Peshek started at 1k and I have no idea what he’s at now…I sell game to the cook in Talmberg castle and she started with like 20g and now she’s over half way to 1k. Once you sell an item you can buy it back, which is a good way to take stolen status off items if you don’t want to wait, but once you wait long enough the trader will have “sold” all inventory except for what they sell as a standard.
so it pays to sell to the same people over and over. For instance, I hunt in Talmberg and sell meat to the cook in the castle and the Innkeep in the Tavern…I then drop all excess meat into my world chest I have at that Inn and then fast travel to Miller Peshek and sell the uncooked stuff to him and the rest of the cooked stuff to Rattay; toss the excess to the refugees. I make good money and their purse increases meaning I can make more next time
I kind of thought that this was a mechanic of the game, as each time I returned to Peshek he would have more and more money. The last time I sold he had over 20K and the weapon and armor vendors in town are easily reaching 15k plus. I guess it pays to always sell to the same person.
