Is this legal?

I think that’s a reasonable summary; but the ones who can’t play have it rougher than some others!

What I am stumped by is not the PC platforms showing a bug on one system and on a (seemingly) identical one, there is no bug, but on the consoles. While the consoles are presumably tougher due to the port, I would think that since the hardware is less variable, fixes would come faster.

Many of the old and established big players have proven time and time again for over a decade, that all they care about is money and they couldn’t care less about the gamers.

With WH, i think, they should be given the benefit of the doubt, as to wether or not they are thieving lying arseholes. So I’ll observe, how they handle the issues, and what they are doing next. and that’s what’s going to tell me wether or not I’m going to buy any other games from them.

Oddly enough, there seems to be enough variability on consoldes to make some a bugfest and others run reasonably well.

To be honsest, I vaguely recall the game being initially designed as a PC exclusive title. and only very late in development the inceassent cries for console versions and likely the gently brutality of a publisher softly pushing a dagger in, forced the inclusion of Consoles.

Dude you speak a lot of sense, seems your one of the rare ones who can see both sides of the coin.

I was ill the day this game come out and realistically I shouldn’t have spent the money on it because I’m having huge renovations done to my home so I should really be saving but I was ill off work bored and really loved the look of the game. Finding the game to be completely broken for me personally really got to me bad. I invest in Microsoft game preview games and I’m fine with the bugs because you expect them. With all launch titles you expect some bugs but paying full dollar for the game i expect a game compareable to other full dollar AAA games in terms of performance and optimisation. Not something that was worse than some of the game preview titles I invested in which were half the price. when I say worse I don’t mean the game as a game itself I just mean the bugs glitches and performance.

I shouldn’t have to be concerned with the politics behind the scenes of the game because I was never made aware I was buying an untested unfinished game. Then I see that post with the community manager being open and honest that was a week and half after release and 1 million sales hit… seemed like abit of a thorn in the side.

Yeah console players are all having completely different experiences despite same hardware so these bugs might not be that simple to fix.

The best example I can give is by chance I saved before a bug occurred so I reloaded and a totally different bug occurred so I had to reload again and the first bug happened again… so I decided to play with it abit. I reloaded the save and for the next 2-3 minutes try and do exactly the same thing each time. I was getting different results every time and I couldn’t figure out what was causing the bugs lol.

It was at a camp of bandits outside the silver mine with that old knight dude.

Sometimes the old knight guy would randomly attack me without any reason. Sometimes he would just run off into the distance… once my horse randomly went ragdoll dead… another time he actually faught along side me against the bandits but then turned on me once they all died… another time he fought with me then fell through the floor. Another time he just wouldn’t talk to me… basically I couldn’t get him to fight the bandits with me and enter the cave… the one time it did work and he went into the cave for a cut scene I got an infinite load screen lol!! Spent around 3hrs on 5mins of gameplay.

it is just not acceptable to release product in a beta state

Thanks, You too. It’s nice to talk about this with somebody that can consider another side.

No reason anybody should be happy with broken product.

It is for some platforms, it seems. I usually play racing simulations or flight simulations so I have it on PC. Knock on wood, so far so good. About to (I think) lead Radzing to Runt’s camp.

I used to play a lot of games, but by bow only very few, and limited amounts. And I only ever buy games after half a year or so of fixing the guaranteed messy state they are all in these days, and if recommended by trusted friends.
They’re usually cheaper by then, as well.

I even play some games year(s) after release.

This was the exception, because I wanted to support the idea of a realistic medieval game, no fantasy. I pledged as much as I was willing to lose on a total dud, and deliberately stayed off the hype as best as I could.

So far, runsa decently, though rough around the edges sometimes. But in either case, if I hi any real issues, I’d be pausing till the fixes are out.

On a diffrent note…

I wonder a it, though, why people say WH should’ve sold it for 1/2 the price instead of full price. effectively, 60 bucks IS half the price of a tripple A title these days. you need to include DLC, season passes and loot box purchases in the price of modern games as well…

It’s fine as long as I know that. Then I can make an informed decision to buy the game or not… i probably wouldn’t at full price though obviously.

Microsoft game preview is great as long as you understand the game might be a complete mess. That’s the best way to release an unfinished game when you need more funding to turn it into a finished product. Conan Exiles was completely unplayable and a buggy mess on console at the start of its preview but I paid £15 and knew that might be the case so I waited and the devs communicated so much via social media and weekly newsletter updates. within a month they improved its optimisation massively and have added loads of new stuff leading up to its official release.

Hmm I think you need to include DLC cost with this game as well…

When you complete KCD you’ll see what I mean. I won’t ruin it for you but let’s put it this way… you haven’t got a full game and what you have got isn’t as long as you probably think it is. In fact there’s a lot of people seriously disappointed with the ending and calling it a cash grab.

P.S please don’t ask me to provide proof and quotes, I’m not very good at finding them lol.

Exactly. Us fans get to learn and help them grow. It’s honestly an awesome experience to be here on the forefront of their foray in to the world of gaming.

I don’t have nearly as many hours in as some people, but remember, there were plenty of bugs in Skyrim, and it was still my favorite game ever. I had over 160 hours on that game. This game seems legit to me so far. The only problem I have is that I don’t have enough time to play anymore.

What’s the excuse for people who lose 50+ hours save files? They’re just screwed, I’m sure they really enjoy helping this studio learn. The game is great but the state is in is most definitely not, save files being corrupted shouldn’t be happening, at all.

Skyrim has been released so many times and there are STILL bugs lol. Still a great game.

I had 17 straight hours on Day 1 on PC, I have 81 total now. Little to no problems, game is more playable than Skyrim was on launch.

same hehe, very smooth haha with really high settings

Been playing for 10 days, there are some issues but nothing catastrophic. Go cry somewhere else.

Same happens with AAA games, last that come to my mind are Skyrim and Fallout 4, but people give them a break because it’s beths.

Here just seems imature “kids” with nothing else to play, complaining every single day about the same.

The condition of the game is beta quality at best. I understand that games ship with bugs but anyone who says this is normal is delusional. Each and every review talks about the huge mess of bugs and unpolished graphics and i have experienced them myself. The worst one for me was getting stuck in a building and i couldnt get out, i lost around 40 minutes of progress on that one. The very few who claim to have seen no bugs are either extremely lucky or outright lying.

Maybe warhorse ran out of money and had to launch in this embarrassing state. Certainly they knew they were not finished. I love this game for what it is and I can forgive its failures because I have been dreaming about a game like this for around 20 years, and i know that warhorse is still finding itself.
