Is this legal?

It’s completely playable for me. Dunno what your issue is.

I have clocked over 45 hours in the game so far. I really have nothing major to complain about. Mostly balance issues and archery physics.

Almost every big game has bugs and a small studio certainly isnt helping the case. Xcom2, rome2 total war, witcher 3, skyrim, DOOM, BF4, fallout nv and I could go on with the list. It is NOT news that games have bugs on release. That happens and its understandable if you ever programmed anything bigger. Thats why, if you cant handle the situation, you dont get the game until you have read reviews and comments about the state of the game (for the platform you are planning on buying).

In KCD I have encountered about two major bugs (PC) worth mentioning. One of which only lost me 3h of progress pretty early in the game. My friend is playing this on console and has certainly encountered more bugs than me but its still playable for her afaik. Its not broken for everyone so I dont really know how they could have “released it after it was working and not rushing it”.

when the game is so broken, how is possible that so many people have finish it (I’m here near the end also) ??? i have 4-5 noticable bugs in 70 hours…

I’m so happy that the game is working for you guys but that doesn’t mean it is for everyone. Stop being so narrow minded that you think your experience of the game is the only one everyone else is having.

The game is outright broken for some of us and it’s beyond what is acceptable. It should never have been released on console.

That doesn’t make anyone a “kid” and no one needs to cry elsewhere because this is the place to say your opinion on the games state right now.

Yes, I respect your opinion but the title is very catchy, this game is worth more than 60$ for me so yeah it seems completely legal to me.

and if this game is illegal so must be a lot of games cuz you seem to think this is the only game that has bugs. Skyrim had many game breaking bugs on release, once I even had to start a whole new game cuz of a bug.

I remember when Skyrim first got released people like you kept on saying the game is broken, but look at Skyrim now, it still has some bugs but runs really smoothly.

its the same case for this game give it some time and it will be perfect.

I personally have stopped playing this game and waiting for them to fix some problem but, I have addressed my issues to the game but I haven’t complained about it and am waiting patiently for them to fix it, and WH actually replied that they are working on fixing it.

Perspective man… Perspective.
If you have a problem with the game the first thing most people do is research the problem. Which likely led you here. Once you are here and see all the other issues people are having its easy to get lost in it. But you are overlooking that with over 1 million copies sold, if even 1 percent of those people had game breaking issues this forum would have crashed days ago. I feel your pain, I’m not on this forum because I am not having my own issues. It sucks to be one of the very few that is having an issue.
Perspective.

It doesn’t seem like very few, on the PS4 Gamefaqs board I see new people posting that their save files got corrupted every day and it often corrupts their backups as well. Regardless of how many either way, it’s not good and you currently run the risk of having your save be deleted at some point on PS4.

Maybe it’s not so bad, and that’s why they sold so many copies. I don’t see a million people complaining, here… Do you?

Why is that just because some of you have had an easy ride the rest of us are wrong for being annoyed the games in the state it is for us? It’s easy to say your enjoying the game and it’s great when your not encountering the same bugs as the rest of us. If you were hitting some of the problems we are there’s no way you would be on this forum defending the game and calling everyone whiners. They sold a million copies before anyone encountered some of the worst bugs. I personally felt like the start ran great with only trivial things like pop in and crappy AI but then it just snowballed into unplayable after about 10hrs. This leads me to feel the start of the game was relatively tested because the further I went into the game the more impossible it became to play.

If I’m honest when you look past the bugs and glitches what have you got anyway? other than a nice coat of paint? Pick pocketing and lock picking isn’t enjoyable, the fast travel after hours of gameplay becomes tedious because every side quest involves travelling the length of the country to pass a speech test based on how shiny your armour is and then your sent across country to pass another speech test and then you’ve completed the side quest… I read somewhere the quests weren’t your run of the mill fetch quests but they were worse really. The combat system is normally an accident until eventually your one shotting everyone with a quick stab. Poor facial expressions, boring voice acting, side quests have little to no effect on the story and barely any reward so they have no insentive to push you through how boring the majority are. The only interesting part is the main story which is so bugged up it’s unplayable but for those it is semi playable it’s actually stupidly short with the majority being speech tests and riding across country again. The illusion of options that effect the world but don’t really which we were told didn’t exist in this game are all over the game, we were told our decisions held real weight in the game but honestly i never experienced anything that mattered. Cumans and bandit camp you could poison them and burn there arrows. I played it twice, once poisoning every single food bowl and burning all the arrows and another doing nothing at all and both fights were identical. Loads of enemies and arrows being fired. You can’t kill key NPCS the game physically stops you from loosing an arrow or swinging your sword at them. I thought the devs weren’t scared of you missing things and breaking quests killing NPCS but I found non of that. The only thing that broke this game is the bugs found on consoles, again not for everyone but for a lot of people this game is a mess. Beyond the mess of bugs and glitches this game didn’t do anything new and what it did do other games have done better. The only thing I feel it’s done well is create a realistic landscape but even that is ruined by awful texture issues and pop ins.

I dont care how small the team are or what the budget was, they charged the same as a huge team with a big budget for the game. So warhorse profit margin must be huge in comparison to some of the bigger titles that needed to recover the cost of a big budget and pay a large team and they did it with an inferior game full of game breaking bugs.

50h on Ps4, 3 game breaking bugs so i had to load back a one hour old save (that made me scared every time i mount my horse) and horse got stuck on the fence 4 times and my horse disappeared once, its health was on 100 and everything was fine but its no where to be found when i whistle it dosent come and it was just behind be before i had to get off and kill some Cumans and after that my horse is gone so i had to load back a 4 hour save and Miller Peshek is glitched out 4 me on the pick pocketing quest so whenever i talk to him he says im gonna be standing here pretending your not here and try to steal my dagger shit but hes really walking around his mill doing his chores and it dosent give me an option to pickpocket him so hes basically broken i cant trade with him and i cannot do his quests and i cannot level up my pickpocketing or lockpicking from him and this just fucks up the game for me and they have to fix all these big issues in one patch

I finished the main story, loved how it has been told and pretty much all of the ideas implemented in game but… bugs are all over the place. objectives didn’t trigger to me in a lot of situations so i had to load game back couple of times loosing progress and do it over again, game crashed a few times.

Save system which i presonally like very much is also fucked up on PS4, when you exceed some limit of saves (± 30h of play) the game won’t save game at all untill you delete earlier savegame files.

i think everybody forget to mention about fucked optimization on PS4, textures are not loading. framerate during fights often lowers to an unplayable level, missing NPCs, NPCs who got objective behind unlockable door, fucking titanium bushes which get you stuck in almost every trip out of the villages, riding a horse like it was a steamtrain and above all LOADING SCREENS before any conversation. It is driving nuts when you come to store interact with a guy (wait 10sec) - repair your eq, interact again (wait 10sec) sell stuff, interact (wait 10sec AGAIN!?) talk about quest :expressionless:

But what really dissapointed me is the fact that after 20 hours played (mid-game) the enemies became 1shot1kill who can do shit to you and the game becomes non-challenging as hell. After completing main story majority of side quests are impossible to finish (objective markers out of map boundries, empty cities, npcs missing, bandit camps missing, dialogue options missing) so i suggest you to leave it to the very end.

Lockpicking - people complain about it very much, for me its okay but i cant understand why there are very hard locks which the game wont let us open only because the game wont let us :expressionless: few of the perks are messed up and dont work properly (wearing leather gloves decreases our light armor bonus or perk which gives us 1+ stats if we eat certain amounts of food is always enabled no matter if we are starving)… so after a several dozen on hours game starts to be and easy as fuck and in consequence boring. No bandits or even guards threaten us i could go to sassau and kill every single person. still live and breathe and head for further killing sprees lol. Not to mention about short main questline and idiocy of sidequests (most of them) and the game after 20-30 hours became sooo boring i dont want to play it anymore.

PSN are refusing to refund, ive send them a video showing texture bugs. They told me to reinstall the game and rebuild a database on ps4. Then They told me to contact devs to aqquire som ref id and after that contact for a refund.

And the best thing - devs openly admitted that they have overeaten all money they got from kickstarter and didnt finish the game. Seriously? Heist.

I am with you. Barely 3 hours in and there is no point to play anymore - one bug after another…

I agree with you almost completely.

I don’t think however that’s the WH Studios to blame for the whole cock up. Keep in mind that there were investors who put the money in. I really doubt any of developers and their managers were thinking about how many millions they’ll get from the game. Simply because they were working for a set wage, doing all the creative work, and that was their fulfillment.

Investors and the publisher - that’s a different story. For them the game’s a product, not their opus magnum, they put their money in it, and they want a profit. And right now the profit is over $60 mils. Was it worth it to release the game in its current state? I mean, financially. Of course it was, look at the amount of money they made by selling an unfinished product.

Also, the customers are to blame for the state of affairs. Because ultimately those are customers who allow to be treated the way they are treated. Gaming industry nowadays is a bit like a medieval relic trade: they do their best to feed you fables on what blessed features their product has. So who’s to blame that customers were fooled again?

Ideally, releasing games without demos reflecting current state of the full product should be illegal. This way customers would be able to check out the product and make informed decision whether buy or not to buy. Otherwise buying computer games will always be a bit like buying a medieval relic.
