KCD killa = Kirksy
I’m surprised nobody noticed that was him.

Oh we noticed lol. within the first few days of posting
While I love the game, there are many other games just as big a contender for goty, if not better:
God of War
Spiderman
Red Dead Redemption 2
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Monster Hunter World
Fallout 76
Far cry 5
There are lot more I can think but I think I’ve made a point on the great games that came out this year itself.
The only contender i see here is Red Dead redemption 2. Far cry 5 doesn’t even deserve to be on this list.
That’s why it’s on the bottom. But it still deserves to be acknowledged. Rather than jumping on the Ubisoft hate wagon, it’s better to see a lot of things that game achieved.
The fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 hasn’t even come out and you’re considering it GOTY is being very presumptive to be honest. God of War is going to win most of the GOTY this year. I’m calling it.
If it was just a play Station game it would be it the top 3 IHOP and I don’t have a PS$. or but watched a ply through or I would have got it.
The reason why i named Red dead redemption 2 is because it isn’t released yet and if it lives up to the standards of the last one it might be a real contender. Also what’s the point of putting it on your list, if you think unreleased games aren’t contenders?
While fallout 76 isn’t released yet either it looks like a copy paste of fallout 4, except for that it’s multiplayer. Fallout 4 was a huge disappointment for me, especially the fact that i pre ordered it made me rage hard. A multiplayer version of an already released game from a few years ago doesn’t exactly look look like a GOTY contender to me.
I don’t like God of War, but there are plenty of people that do, so if RDR2 turns out to suck, then it is a certain possibility.
KCD has it’s flaws, but to me it was something very different from all the other games i have ever played. It brought something new to RPG’s that i have been missing in most of them. I wish more games go in this direction, but with less bugs (Or none, but that’s just a dream)
What we consider GOTY is very subjective of course, because we all have different tastes and value specific elements in games more than others.
One thing is for sure. The year that Cyberpunk 2077 releases, it will win GOTY. I doubt it will be released this year but if it releases next year. KCD won’t win it next year. I think RDR2 will win because it simply is something that has been put thought to for a long time, a bigger budget, a fanbase and a lot more media attention.
Not sure if it’s gonna be as good as KCD but I’m willing to give it a go. It’ll be completely different but you can’t call it GOTY just yet
could happen. storyline might stink to high heaven, but the mechanics* alone (if they work) should make RDR2 a helluva game
I couldn’t be happier if Kingdom Come won GOTY. I personally want it to. But it certainly lacks the polish that should be there. I think the GOTY would be split between GoW and RDR2 this year. Like, there’s like 50 of them anyway - which of them do we even count.
I know I included some unreleased games in my list, but that isn’t a personal list - it was just presumptions made on what can be a contender. A lot of people liked Fallout 4, and are anticipating 76. I personally, might not be one of them but that doesn’t stop me from mentioning it at least, if you know what I mean.
@DonHart Already voted for Kingdom Come there ^^
Voted also.
Neither has fallout 76 and its on your list. Can’t wait to see how many bugs are in that game that everyone will ignore.
Everyone already knows rdr2 is going to be an amazing game even if it’s not out yet. Just go watch the game play videos…
I liked GoW but imo it is no where near the masterpiece people made it out to be.
Yes there are still lots of bugs in New Vegas and Fallout 4. You are right they completely get ignored!
Laughing Out Loud,
First everybody bought it and now it should not get GOTY Oh yes, and do not forget that all haters still write crap over KCD while secretly playing it!
They are in trouble this time because i dont know how the modding community is going to bail them out since they switched to MP.
Looks like its a PC only award, so its got a shot. I would have thought calling anything Game of the Year would include all platforms, not just the one where it actually performs decently, so IMO this would be a half baked and misleading award if won. But good luck none the less.
short term, i think Beth wants a new revenue stream. to my eyes, they’re copycatting on the (PUGB) battle royale fad and giving it a (faux) FO feel.
longer term i think Beth (and others) want to move to online games. (think Project Stream and ACO but on a grander scale)
I can see that. I just don’t understand why they didn’t just make a brand new game though. Fallout has always been single player. Why poison your main fanbase? I’ve loved all of the fallout games up until 4. It was ok but something was off. I don’t think I’ll be picking up F76 at least for a pretty good while anyway.
