Knocking on a door

I hope this feature will be available, it would also be fun to be able the bash open doors, but that would be for a different purpose of course  Walking inside everyone house sometimes just make no sense.

That would be a good idea ! I always found it odd to go into everyone’s house with no problem :stuck_out_tongue:

I also think a lot of day to day interactions should be implemented like asking someone if you may buy something he owns, asking mundane help like a roof for the night in exchange of money instead of being treated as an outlaw when looking for a place to stay. Giving a handshake, asking for directions !

Agreed ! Social interaction with people would be very good! Hand shakes, hugs, maybe leading someone somewhere by holding their hand …

I do think that with their modular structure for behavior this is something they can achieve. A few sets of new patterns available for npc’s when it’s fitting. Some may let you use the stables to sleep other might think of robing you in the night. And of course there is always the farmer girl you aren’t supposed to touch

… lead or lure someone into the forest and execute and rob him.
But how to hide/dispose of the body? As far as I know, there are no chasms around. Maybe throw the body in the river. The current will take care of him?

As for the knocking on doors. Even if a door is already open, I would like to see some reaction of the owner because of my intrusion. Maybe even report me to the authorities?
Here’s an example: I enter a house, the NPC expels me from his property. But later I come back unnoticed and grab some stuff in his house. Now, when the NPC comes home it would be brilliant if he would recognize that some things are missing and because the last person he saw in his house was the player he would report him to the authorities.

Technical speaking this means, the NPC needs to store information about the items in his home in his “mind” and whenever he enters the house he automatically compares what’s still there with what should be there (stored in his “mind”). Also, the NPC stores information about who’s the last person he has seen in his house.
Just an idea how it could work.

That would be so bloody awesome !!!
Cerberus, we were talking about social interaction, you talk about murdering someone in the forest. This time I’m sure : You’re a psychopath ahah

Not all social interaction finish inevitably this way. Do they ?

Every single horror movie i’ve ever seen taught me that social interactions end up in murder or sex! :whale:

Ha ha ha well, life taught me that everything we do end up in death

I hope knocking is in there.

Knocking on a door is great idea! Hopefully there will be also punishment for trespassing and guards will look into house if they find a house with door open for too long (or broken door, if you can kick down it down)

It should be a minigame! You have to time your knocks, otherwise they will think it was just the wind.

It would also be nice to be able to say goodbye, when you go see a friend for example, it’s silly to just come in his house, say nothing then go without any warning

at least will be nice to knocks in a door to taunt the owner to the door while you enter by the back door or a window to rob stuff

I love the idea! It would clearly make the game more realistic

There more people love it the more we have the chance to see this feature. Let’s do some promotion for it !

Some kind of “feature voting system” would be cool. Not for letting the community decide things… just to present the opinions in numbers…

It’s a good idea, but from what ive read between the lines already the ppl will react the way you behave around them. I think dan mentioned you can wake up a person in the night to finish a questline but he might also be angry and call the guards to report an intruder.

Yes if you knock on the door, he may not be calling the guards at all, but if you have no other choice than coming in his house and wake him him. It’s a bit more intruding.
