I have the game. Which lock are you trying to pick?
most quests have multiple ways of completing them and there will most likely be another way to open the chest, like pickpocketing the keys or knocking someone out/killing and stealing the keys.
tuturial one, i even tried reloading , gave up went to executioners house hit the guy on the head and took his key
I thought it was super hard too until actually understanding that it will take patience and time to get it right without high skill level. I still have completed all lock picking quests without an issue or running out of lockpicks. I play on Xbox One.
The issue i’m having is pick pocketing. The dude says try again but after 10 attempts he goes and tells the guards lol. Its the tutorial quest for this. How is he able to break code and go tell the guards i’m stealing from him? lol

The one at the millers house?
You can do that 1 as many times as you like and you do not run out of lockpicks and can level up, or at least i levelled up 1 point on lockpicking opening the millers chest multiple times.
The 1 in the executioners house was tricky but i managed to open it on 3rd attpemt luckily. I think everyone will have different experiences, which i love about the game!
I noticed this option when he was sleeping and i wanted to see if you could steal from him on the lock picking quest. lol he woke up too fast for that though at the time. Killed him the first time and reloaded. Got the lock the second time after sending him to the mill for something he wasn’t going to be getting lol.
with pickpocketing you have to hold the A button down and then you will see numbers going up, and the background changing colour to red… dont let it go to red… the numbers are the time you have on next screen to select item and exit the pocket… it is tricky but i did it a few times now and again, it gets easier.
you do run out of lockpicks when doing it if fail.

I failed many times on the chest at the millers house and i did not run out of lockpicks. I must have tried 20 times. i think i managed to open it like 5 times and leveled up.
I feel like they didn’t even test lockpicking on consoles. Or saving. Or pickpocketing.

Yeah this is so hard for me as throughout the game it requires you to be stealthy but to do that you will need to lock pick, this needs an update because at the moment its too differcult to push forward in the game…this needs sorting ASAP

Can you maybe finish tutorial before judging about the game…
You dont need to Lockpick in the Tutorial, you dont need to Fight you just need to run away
You’ll learn lockpicking right when the game begins and fighing too. You need to keep weapons and armor in your mind. What weapon to use for which armor. The game needs some thinking about possible solutions

The game is great I love it until i have to lockpick, ive played 8 hours of the game and it had hasnt got easier

Warhorse stated on twitter that they will work on lockpicking

It’s really not that bad just get good at using both hands and practice it. Also you get the key for the dad’s lock box so idk why you’re having an issue with that. Once you get to the tutorial on lock picking just practice it over and over with unlimited picks and it gets pretty doable. Like it’s already been said it shows that the main character is the most rookie of rookie thieves and has to learn to do it. Tbh the lock picking is very similar to how actual lock picking works so I have zero complaints about it. If you can’t do it just knock out or pick pocket someone with a key

Dont mind that if its hard its fresh from games like Skyrim where lockpicking is so easy but this is really hard and we shouldnt have to try different ways, i sat there for 30 minutes trying again and again and wouldnt happen…also off topic ive got two broken feet from the look of things how do i heal them?
I was actually wondering about that too since the game gave me a hint that it could happen, which I find pretty awesome that it’s possible, but other than sleep and or bandages I have no idea, sorry. Would be interested in knowing as well though in case it happens to me
For me banadages stopped the bleeding for a little bit bu then i started bleeding again and it wount let you sleep unless your in a better condition so i had to load rfom 30 minutes before
