No helmet?

Does anyone else find it weird that both Henry and the main enemy fight wihout a helmet?

No. They need weakspots somewhere.

You’ve got to remember that this Cuman camp event probably happens relatively early on in the game. Contextually speaking… so for me it’s more a representation of a low level Henry taking on a low level boss type.

In saying that though, going into battle without any form of head protection whatsoever… does seem a bit mental :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I mean, grab an iron pot and stick it on your head for Christs sake :smile:

Henry - that’s player’s choice. The evil guy - in some of new videos Toby said that this guy is super strong and hard to beat, until you realize that he does not have helmet and has weak spot there. So this has reasons, and can be viewed as bad choice of that guy. He just decided not to take helmet, and he will pay for it.

@Kaven
Henry: No it’s not player choice. Go back in the video and you will see that he was wearing a helmet before.
Enemy: Yes but why wouldn’t you wear a helmet? Especially since all the rest is super heavily armored. That’s mental.

In cutscenes we hide players helmet, so you can see Henrys face.

But the helmet isn’t hidden, it doesn’t exist. Because when the fighting begins there is still no helmet.
Edit: Ah, you mean Henry’s helmet. So the only one not wearing a helmet is the enemy boss I guess. Still stupid that he has no helmet, isn’t it?

Spoiler alert:

Runt is pictured as strong, rough and badass character. He even fucking killed a guy because he spilled his wine on him.
So I don’t necessarily think it’s stupid that he wears no helmet. He is daring, cocky and arrogant, that’s who he is.

Henry had helmet off before going to upper floor for boss fight. So he was actually not wearing it after cutscene.

Fair enough.

Is this really the case? Or rather that the scenes are pre-rendered :wink:

I wanna know as well!

i still think the scene would make more sense with a different set up. ie, both are involved in heavy battle, bad guy gets desperate, runs upstairs, tosses helmet.

henry follows him, the scene plays out the same, except as henry speaks, he removes his helmet and tosses it aside to show him who it is. then the bad guy, seeing his face, starts to recall the event at the village

Whait, what??
You want them to toss away their helmets?
That seems really dumb to me. Doesn’t make sense at all. I prefer it the way it is now then.

It’s probably for the same reason movies and shows choose to not have main characters wear helmets. It’s so we can see their face and recognise them.

I am honestly not sure now. Maybe it is pre-rendered cutscene,
But we do hide helmets even in in-game cutscenes.

That’s not an argument. You can pull up the visor of the helmet. So even with a helmet you can still see the face.

Agreed, as soon as the scene is not pre-rendered but rendered in-enginge, every customizable game object (visible equipment) can be displayed. This does not work on pre-rendered scenes unfortunately.

Yeah it is, and it’s a very common reason main characters are helmetless in movies, shows and games.

@SirWarriant
I just explained why it isn’t an argument; because you can still see the face when the visor is up.
You didn’t answer that.
