It’s not grayed out, it’s switched on 
All I’m saying is that like most people i spent most of last night downloading this patch only to find out it was all for nothing. All i see is more bugs less stability and more stuttering. It’s like WH are trying to upset people on purpose
Well, I have the HD textures, and the change was not ground shaking. But then again, in direct comparison, there seems to be a little change. Textures before already were good enough for running around in the world, so the finer casting imperfections on the bottom of a kettle are not likely to be a giant life changing moment.
But even with a not super powerde machine, I can run it on all maxed out settings without any problem or even the least bit of stuttering. Can’t say that about witcher 3…
That the new hairstyles etc. are bugged is a bummer. They should probably test their patches better, but I can also see how a tiny tudio with a very small number of test platforms and testers, can fail to sieve out all possible bug options.

But I also can see, how the Devs are possibly pressured towards a premature release of any patch by the people who already come flocking to the forum on monday morning, 00:15 AM, frothing at the mouth about how WH lied to them when promising a patch that “should” arrive that week, ignoring the meaning of “should” as in, not set in stone but rather likely, and misinterpreting a week to specifically only mean the first 5 seconds of monday morning.

I’m gonna be 100% honest now. My rig is medium tier (1060gtx and a Ryzen 1500X) and all of the performance problems I read about do not even exist for me.
Not just that…but 1.4 also makes it so sometimes conversations don’t even need to load anymore.
I’m on my 2nd playthrough and only on my first did I have a game breaking bug…all the other stuff is just funny like my horse sometimes hovering.
I’m also playing at very high with 2560x1080 Res with 30 FPS in towns and 40-50 out of town. As a mid tier rig I cannot expect more.
I often feel like a lot of problems are machines that have not been assembled with the correct parts or people not setting up all their software properly…it’s just weird how it’s seemingly always the same type of person having weird troubles

You can’t be serious. My Rig is better than yours and claiming people don’t know how to set up software? I am glad your game works well. But my camera shaking is still fucked.
Yup my rig makes this rig look like a calculator too. My rig isn’t the problem because it was fine pre 1.4

Why there’s no option in game to turn all that shite off is beyond me. Supposedly a realistic medieval SIM with a FUCKING BIG HUD that can’t be switched off. Sort it out ffs

ANY major update to the base game is going to break mods. The mods take the base files and alter them. If the base files change, the mod breaks, and the publisher needs to update their mod to refer to the new file. Your grief is with the modder and their out of date mod, not the game.

Isn’t there a console command to set hud to 0? Pretty sure that’s a thing.

I would have thought being able to switch off the hud would of been in this game from day one no mods needed.
Why? I’m having trouble thinking of any other RPGs that natively do that. Why would you expect it here?
Haha put a piece of duct tape over it. Problem solved. Now you won’t know how much stamina you have anymore so you can complain about the screen turning blue while sprinting and dying all easy during combat like the real true to life hard core gamer we all know you are!
